The lead translator had uploaded to CS a file with review of your sample. It is file PRFDFrench Translator 2, 3.doc and you are Translator 2.
Please download it to take a look at her comments.
Additionally, she had reviewed one file you translated. Lead Translator is satisfied by your overall work, but there seem to be problems with hyphens. Here is her evaluation:

Hyphens: the translator seems to have troubles with hyphens. In the whole file, all hyphens have been duplicated and locked by Transit like so: garde butin (it should look like garde-butin). The translator should use EITHER or only ONE -
Capitalization: a few random capitalization issues, mostly because the translator didn¢‚¬„¢t know whether the terms were proper names or not.
Random examples of translation mistakes:
Yashose – Yasho (invariable)
Refinerse translated as affineurse – raffineurs (could be a typo though)
Good work overall and solid writing style. Something needs to be done about the hyphen issues (in this case, the problem comes from the translator, not Transit).

Capitalization issues: a very small amount of terms inserted from the glossary need to be put back in lower case, mostly located towards the end of the file.
The writing style could sometimes be improved a touch perhaps, here are some examples:
Do I look like I¢‚¬„¢m still alive? translated as J¢‚¬„¢ai l¢‚¬„¢air en vie ?e – Est-ce que j¢‚¬„¢ai l¢‚¬„¢air d¢‚¬„¢etre vivant/en vie ?
Good work overall, no major issues to worry about.

Yes these 2 files are completed. told me to send it to you first, to check if everything was ok, as it was my very first translation.
I already sent it to . I just came back today, so I’ll ask him for new files now.
The 2 files you’ve uploaded to CS – are these completed translations? If yes, please e-mail them to .

If you want me to forward this to the lead translator, my-be you could provide a few examples of segments in which you have this problem?
In the dictionary, “reviving orb” has been translated as “orbe ravivante”, so I have kept the feminine in my translation of “orb” though other translators seem to have used the masculine.

Thank you for the samples, for now it’s enough.
I am sorry you had troubles with the system, in the future you can use also the OT to address me. http://translationstop.com/OT/
Here are another samples from my translation as I proceed:
1. Source:-By the way, when you ride this lucky bird alongside the great immortals, be sure you don’t forget the old man who helped you get there.
Target: -Au fait, lorsque vous chevauchez cet oiseau porte‚º‚º‚º bonheur aux cutes des grands immortels, assurez‚º‚º‚º vous que vous n’oubliez pas le vieillard qui vous a aide a y parvenir.
2. Source:-Choose an Esper Relic from Tonni.

3. Source:-If you give me a Treasure Bowl, I’ll trade you 10 Bloodsmelting mediums for the Esper of your choice.

Thanks and regards.

Welcome to the team, I’m looking forward working with you.
Do you mean files which are so bad that you need to have them returned to translators to repair them?
I think you can use for this purpose the FTP server to upload files to the project files server. I can create there directory “returned files” which you could use. I think it would be convenient for everybody if you uploaded there a compressed file containing the PXF file to be repaired and a word file with your comments.
Do you think this option is suitable for you?
I’m , one of the proofreader of ‘s project. I would like to introduce myself to you.
If there are some files, which have to be fixed from the translators, can I send them to you to send them on to the translators?

Glossary issues: a very large amount of terms have been left in English (untranslated). The translator needs to download the latest version of the glossary.
Capitalization issues: the translator didn¢‚¬„¢t put some of the terms inserted from the glossary in lower case. Translator should refer to the guidelines.
Random examples of translation mistakes:
Body fluide translated as corps fluidee – fluide corporel
to increase your Stash size by…e translated as pour augmenter votre taille de butin par…e – pour augmenter la taille de votre butin par
Both files need to be updated and fixed. Using the last version of the glossary should fix a lot of issues.

Glossary issues: The translator inserted terms from the glossary correctly but I fear that she¢‚¬„¢s using an outdated version. Some translations have been improved/may vary significantly since then so an update is necessary to keep consistency. A few terms have been left untranslated.
Capitalization issues: Most of the terms taken from the glossary are still capitalized. The translator should refer to the guidelines and put most of the terms in lower case. Only proper names should be capitalized.
Random examples of translation mistakes:
je couree – je cours
Good work overall, the translator needs to update her glossary file and refer to the guidelines to fix her mistakes.

Glossary: I think this file doesn¢‚¬„¢t contain a lot of glossary terms so it is difficult to know if the translator is using it accordingly or if he is using the right version.
Style could be greatly improved at times, here are some examples:
e¢ les meilleures actions sont les contributions a notre peuplee – les meilleures actions sont celles qui contribuent/beneficient a notre peuple.
e¢ ‚« Je suis sous l’ordre du Chef supreme du Vim de donner une recompense a ceux qui ont contribue au Vim. ‚» – Le chef supreme de Vim m¢‚¬„¢a donne l¢‚¬„¢ordre de recompenser ceux qui aident le Vim.
Random example of translation mistake:
svpe – s¢‚¬„¢il vous plait (this is too familiar, unacceptable!!!)
Translator seems to be following directions but needs to improve his writing style. A lot.

Glossary: there might be a problem with the glossary file: character name Enue is replaced by FRAe in the file. Also, it looks like she translated some of the red marked words herself or maybe some entries in the glossary need to be improved. I will look into it.
Hyphens: the translator seems to have troubles with hyphens. She seems confused with the symbol and thus doesn¢‚¬„¢t place the hyphens where she should, unless it¢‚¬„¢s a Transit issue. The inserted terms end up with a hyphen in the wrong place (i.e. in the middle of words). Whoever fault it is, it needs to be fixed by the translator who should have seen it while translating anyway. (Example: Perle CinqEtoiles instead of Perle cinqetoiles) The entire file is riddled with this.
Capitalization issues: most of the terms taken from the glossary are still capitalized. The translator should refer to the guidelines and put most of the terms in lower case. Only proper names should be capitalized.
The translator should update her glossary file, refer to the guidelines and fix her files accordingly (hyphen and capitalization issues).

Important: The translator has translatede one segment which look like code lines that were not protected by Transit, for example the segment looks like this: [ ($Line)] and the translator modified it like so [ ($Ligne)]. I am not sure that this is part of the game code though, but I think it would be best to leave it untouched just in case. Since this is a repetition file, this could be serious if it is indeed a code line.
Capitalization issues: most of the terms taken from the glossary are still capitalized. The translator should refer to the guidelines and put most of the terms in lower case. Only proper names should be capitalized.
Random examples of translation mistakes:
Five final testse translated as Cinq tests finauxe – Les cinq derniers/dernieres tests/epreuves
‚« Costs 2 Gold ‚» translated as Cela coute 2 Orse – Cela coute 2 pieces d¢‚¬„¢or
The English text has been pasted in the translation at segment 7, the translator should fix it.
The translator should fix capitalization issues. Since this is a repetition file, I strongly recommend using a proofreader to fix the mistakes that might have slipped through.

Thank you, your comments received.
Please find here below a few comments on my translation for the file in subject:
1. In Segment 87 has a “t” issue. Proofreader to look at
2. Segments 2047, 2217 and 2219 I deleted a stroke which I believe was misplaced. Proofreader to look at
3. Segment 2144, I have read “struggling” instead of “stuggling”
4. Segment 2654, I believe the verb is missing, I’ve used the French “obtenir”
5. I believe that when Jadeon is an adjective, it shouldn’t take a capital letter (i.e. charme jadeon) but if the place is referred it should take a capital letter and avec an article added (i.e. charme de Jadeon). I think there is not consistency as today.
6. I saw “orbe” considered as feminine by other translator, however, this is a masculine word (i.e. un orbe precieuxe¦)
7. Afew comments on dictionary entries:
- Diplume (de Kalpa) takes an accent in French
- Essence Poissons should be changed into Essence du Poisson (signe astrologique)
- I don’t understand why Taisung the Dao has been changed into Taisung le Tao (T instead of a D? mistake or wanted?)
8. I believe there will be quite a lot of proofreading work, as I came across a number of Names wrongly translated, but unfortunately used as reference materials, though nothing I could do about them.
Hope this helps
As always, I’m happy to receive feedback on this work
—————————-
this would be excellent!!! By the way, which FTP server do you mean? The one where uploads his files for the translators or the one inside the virtual office?
Do you think it would be a good idea to also upload daily to FTP-Server the latest dictionary from (Excel), just for reference?

I will try to reply to your question about glossaries.
You Receive bothMainand Add glossaries. But when you begin to work on a file, you select theMainas the only glossary and import all the terms form it.
When the terms are already in the file, you save, and add the ADD glossary to the project under Project-Settings-Termstar Dictionaries. In the same place you also select the ADD glossary to be your “current” one.
The Add glossary is for adding terms. But you can have also the Main glossary active and use it to create new terms which had not been translated yet. You can do it by searching for parts of the term which had already been translated.
For example, term “Malicious Armor” had not been translated yet, but may be “Malicious” had been translated in a different term, like “Malicious Tree”; and the word Armor had been translated in combination “Armor of Death”. Like this you can get an idea how these two words were previously translated and use this as reference to the new terms you create.
Please do NOT add your proposals to new term to the Main glossary, only to Add, and make sure you Send it along with the translated file.
Please let me know if it answers your question.
I had to redo all my files yesterday. And this system was not quite kind with me as it refused to get any samples trough. I think I’ve learned the lesson and will be doing better henceforth.
I’ll be sending more samples shortly as I tackle my new file.
But I still have a big problem: when I set my Video.French_MAIN as the default dictionary and insert all terms from it, then I go back to load the Add_New in order to put new entries in this glossary, it deselects our default dictionary and I end up giving the impression that I refused to apply the instructions as I send my completed file with the WRONG dictionary.
Can you please help me out, or can I Add my new entries (proposals) directly into the Video.French_MAIN (I know how to do it).
Thanks and regards.

Hi :
Thanks for the feedback. Appreciated and duly noted. The proofreader will see the difference in the next file I submit!
Thanks, Fabienne
—————————-
Thank you for a very detailed assessment you provided to the samples. I informed the relevant translators and I believe they will benefit from your comments.
I had also seen your major reviewing file, and forwarded your comments to translators as well. Thank you for the time you dedicated, I believe it is clear now, which parts of the instructions need to be particularly emphasized.
I guess you will be glad to find out that Translator 1 is, whose file you evaluated very positively. I requested him/her for a larger sample.
Today I uploaded two more files for you – one is a sample from a new translator, and the other file contains quite lot of comments to glossary as well as translator’s remarks to a file he finalized. I guess that when there will be more proofreaders this kind of file-specific sums would have to go separately.
Please take a look and tell me if this time file naming is more clear as well as any other comments you may have.
I have uploaded the assessments 1,2,3 with my comments to the translators.
Could you please request another, larger sample from translator 1 ? (350 – 500 words)
His translation seemed pretty good so if I can make sure the quality is consistent on larger volumes I could recommend him/her to for proofreading work.
I’m quickly getting up to speed so you can start harvesting more samples if you want.
In the meantime, please let me know if you need anything.
With many thanks

Thank you for your feedback. Could you please ensure that the file the proofreader is working on is the latest one, as I experienced a lot of problems with Transit recently. has the last one with all segments translated.
As far as I know, there is no English term I have left untranslated and I have already used the lastest glossary. If some terms are still in English or do not follow the new glossary, it is very likely that those are part of segments marked as translated and fuzzymatched. For those, unfortunately, I can’t do anything, as agreed with . If there are untranslated english words in segments I have translated, could you please provide me with a few exemple, to help me understand the problem.
Regarding some translation mistakes and the capital letters, as highlited, and considering the difficulties I had on those files, I am not really willing to rework them. If this is acceptable to , I will submit a discount price per word for those two files.

It’s very kind of you to worry I think he took a day off – he let me know that files had been sent and appeared shortly for a few more times with further instructions.
Can I please ask you how were these 2 files I sent you and how did it finish with them? Were they really unproofread? And what were these strange dots in one of them and how did you resolve it?
And finally, did you send these to or do you still have them (=I need to know if I need to vet them)?
I appreciate very very much your help! Thank you.

Unfortunately you are right. I submitted today 4 tickets – to each category, and received notification only from “Help Desk to existing translators”. We will have it repaired, meantime – now you know where to contact me.
I got your availability doc, it’s very good, I see that generally you are available every day.
But what I was requesting is a report of hours you already worked. Since I recognized that this point might be not so clear also to other PMs, I prepared a sample Hours Record page, which is also a sample Invoice, which you can upload here on CS. It shows in detail what do I want to see in this kind of report. I would like to receive a report of the completed hour in this form, and from now on, please register your hours in this way. And, of course, here are detailed instructions what is it and how to use it:
Example Hours Record and instruction for Invoice submission:
Please find attached a file with a sample Hours Record. Like this it should look, and this is what I would like to receive from you with your invoice or whenever I’m requesting for an hours record to evaluate your work.
You should use directly this doc, just delete the text from the cells I filled and refill your own working hours and completed assignments. In the title replace “Example PM” with your own name.
Under the hours table there are 2 items you should fill when submitting your invoice for the period you want to get paid. You should fill the date of invoice submission, which is the date you send it to me, and the payment method you want. Please fill in only ONE payment method. If it’s PayPal or Moneybookers – then type your e-mail related to your PayPal or Moneybookers account in the right column. If it’s bank account or other method you AGREED WITH ME IN ADVANCE about, then fill all details in the last row.
When sending me this file in response to request for HOURS REPORT, please change the name of the file to contain your name and the reported period. Example: ” _11.04-14.04.doc”. When you send me this document as an INVOICE, please add the word “INVOICE” to the name of the document, like this:
“Invoice_ _11.04-14.04.doc”
How to submit invoice or hourly report?
You open a ticket on new OT: Category – “Help Desk to existing translators”
Fill in the title “Your Name Invoice for period dd/mm/yy” or “Your Name Hourly Report for period dd/mm/yy”
And attach the report or the invoice to the ticket.
Wait for confirmation of receipt! I will always confirm that I got your report/invoice, and if I did not confirm within 24 hours use CS to ask me about it.
Questions welcome.
I think you can send me either a hourly report or an invoice for this period, according to the frequency of payments you agreed about with .
Have a great week
Thanks for your ticket.
The second category I have tried was “Other Support”. As far as I have understood I have to use
only the category “Help Desk to existing translators” to be sure you get the ticket ASAP.
Please find uploaded file ” availability…” through Files Upload.

Herewith I would like to confirm the receipt of your letter.
Thanks for your instructions concerning Hourly Report. I will study them and contact you.

Thank you for letting me know of ‘s day off and sorry for answering so late…
Yes, already has the files back from me…
If you wish, I can prepare a more thorough report later, but for now I’ll just state a few things:
Both files really needed to be proofread.
The first one concerned some inaccuracies and style issues (some words a bit casual/modern/informal but nothing too grave).
Also, most of the “Ihr/Euch/Eure” were not capitalized and sometimes “s” was given as “ss” which is not according to standard spelling, but I guess that comes from not using German keyboard layouts (no special characters). Often, there were spaces missing between punctuation (word.Word).
The second file was harder to proofread, because very few terms were from the latest or any current dictionary and some guideline rules (hyphenation) were not followed. Moreover, I had to change quite some issues where a middle point “‚·” was not in the correct place. This is kind of hard to understand because I think the middle point serves more as a “:” than as a hyphen, so the translation changes sometimes:
Hence, Eminence of Earth‚·Might should be Wucht der Erde‚·Macht and NOT Eminenz der Erd-Macht or similar. This can only be resolved by a native speaker, I’m afraid.
Styliscically, though, it was really good, as were both files, with a few exceptions.
Thank you, so much for now, just tell me if you need more detailed reports.

just assigned me my first file and said to check with you for the latest instructions.
I have downloaded and will now read the guidelines document and update posted here in this system. I also know the details on the project’s web pages, and the knowledge base/ticket system.
Is there anything else I will need to know?
What I am still missing is the password to get to http://translationstop.com/files/.
Thank you — I look forward to working with you!

Welcome to team.
I can send you all kinds of updates and useful info, such as useful links and basic beginners guide to installation of glossaries in Transit. But for me would be more convenient to send it if you would open a ticket on the OT system http://translationstop.com/OT/ (choose category “Help Desk for existing translators”). Name the ticket: ” – request for updates”, and when I login I will send you all I have.
The login to the files server is 001, pass: 001
I’m looking forward working with you as well.

Thank you for the report. I’m afraid I don’t need a more detailed one, since I don’t speak German. I entirely trust your opinion. I am happy I sent the files to you, I’ll bet client would be less than satisfied to receive such raw material. Can you please tell me what were the middle points? Is it possible that it’s some Transit tag which did not get cleaned up? Or does it have some linguistic nature? I really couldn’t understand what are they for and how should I treat them. Again, I am happy that the files went to you.
Thank you very much, again.
PS: I live on GMT +6, so this is pretty much my disconnection hour. Therefore if you address me in the evening, I will not be able to get back to you until next morning. Just that you will know, that urgent evening matters at this point need to be addressed to .

the middle points are just some sort of unknown punctuation in the source files, as far as I’ve gathered. I figured it would be best to leave them exactly in the position where they were in the source files, but they are not Transit-tags. Unlike the hyphens, which are a problem for some German translators (including me) because they just disappear when saving, sending, or when terms from the Termstar-Glossaries are inserted. I think that’s because they are interpreted as tags by Transit (even though has not set a filter for them). So far, the issue remains unsolved, but I’m just inserting ” ” everytime I would usually insert a hyphen. This has to be replaced by the proofreader into a hyphen again (after Export to Excel…). But the middle point seems to just be a peculiarity of the source file.
Hope this helps, and thank you much for your encouraging words!

Here are some more suggestions and comments for the glossary:
- Glowing Aura was translated as Finsterblick-Aura, where did the translator get this Finsterblicke from? Could you please just check if it¢‚¬„¢s correct like this?
- Speed was translated as Eile, I think in most of the contexts Geschwindigkeite would be better. What do you think?
- Youe was included as a proper name and translated/left as Youe. Is it possible that You, written in capital letters, just wants to emphasize and is not a proper name? If yes then it should be translated as Sie or sie, according to the context, and not treated like a proper name.
- Bleed was translated as Ausbluten, but it does not fit in all contexts. Wouldn¢‚¬„¢t it be better just to put blutene?

Please forward this to the main translator.
Pet Tamer Tottoe was mistranslated. In the glossary, the French translation is Totto, dompteuse de compagnone, but as per list of NPC characters, Totto is a boy, so the translation should be Totto, dompteur de compagnone.
In order to remain consistent, all titles/military ranks/functions should start with a lower case as opposed to an upper case ( colonele instead of Colonele, heraute instead of Heraute, etc.) and the glossary should be updated accordingly.
In the glossary, some French words have accents on capital letters ( °tendarde, °toilee, etc.).
As per project instructions, there should be no accents on French capital letters.

I have a strong difficulty to express an opinion over German translations as my knowledge of this language is equal to zero. But I entirely trust our lead translator, who receives form me all these updates, questions and opinions. He is also the one to accept, reject and finally – to update the glossary.
So questions 1 and 2 I will forward to lead translator, but reply you on questions 3 and 4.
- “You” is a secondary male character, proper name. “You” as a way to address a person you are speaking with, should be translated as agreed (medieval capitalized Ihr if I recall correctly). So see from context.
- sometimes same word which is used in different contexts in English actually means different things (like “might”). If it is not possible to use English word from glossary, because it does not cover the required meaning, you use the German word, which translates correctly. Your goal is to produce a naturally sounding German text, therefore use glossary when you can, and when it’s not possible – your professional common sense. I trust it will guide you to the right direction.
Let me know if this helps.

I have a question:
I wonder about the translation of the term “refine”, which is in the German Main Dictionary “verfeinern”, meaning something like “to improve” or “to rarefy” something. It‚´s a very frequent term and the translation is fine in most cases, but it appears also in a context with the “horrid fumes”.
In the context the character (Fayin Dii) wants to get rid of the fume that is in a body of someone and so I would say “to extract”, “to release” or even “to cure” would fit better. (I translated it with “raffinieren” because “verfeinern” would cause confusion in this context)
So, do I have to stick on consistency by using only the dictionary term or are there any other translations for this term in German?
typos/errors/suggestions (Main Dictionary):
Phoenix Wood = Phoenix-Holz (2nd meaning: Phoenix-Wald)
several prefixes in German “Himmel-” = must be: “Himmels-”
several prefixes “Olden” = Alt (-e, -er, -es) must be: Gealtert (-e, -er, -es)
BlackgoldOre= Schwarzgolz-Erz (must be: Schwarzgold-Erz)
IncenseValley= WeihrauchTal (needs a hyphen: Weihrauch-Tal)
Seal of Inferno = Siegel des Inferno (needs genitive “s”: Siegel des Infernos)
Djinn = Djinn (there is a german translation: Dschinn)

Yes these 2 files are completed. told me to send it to you first, to check if everything was ok, as it was my very first translation.
I already sent it to . I just came back today, so I’ll ask him for new files now.
The 2 files you’ve uploaded to CS – are these completed translations? If yes, please e-mail them to .

I would like to send you files which had been proofread by a new proofreader. We would like to ask you to analyze the quality of work of the proofreader. I had merged and compered the proofread and the unproofread files in Word, so the changes by the proofreader are well visible.
I don’t want to upload the files here on CS, therefore, would you please open a ticket on OT: http://translationstop.com/OT/ (category: Help Desk to existing translators), and I will attach the files there.

I just took a better look to your invoice. Why did you write “0″ hours for vetting your first files? We are paying for the time you work, and this includes the first assignments. I am clearly aware that first files are slower, but that’s fine.
Can you resubmit or just tell me how many hours did you work on 6/4 and I will add?
—————————-
Sorry for delay. Thank you very much for your letter.
I will submit a corrected variant of my Hourly report using OT system in a minute.

Here are the segments (16 – 24) from file JD_100201_Localize_7i where it does not fit:
-Stolen Poker-
-Find 10 Pokers stolen by Monkey Phantasms and give them back tobo.-
-I really have nothing to do with these Monkey Phantasms. -Why did they steal Pokers since they don’t need to make a fire and cook? -Though once there was a very famous Poker, my Pokers here are all just for tending fire
Translation:
Gestohlener Poker-
-Sucht 10 Poker, die von den AffenTrugbildern gestohlen wurden und gebt siebo zuruck.-
-Ich habe mit diesen AffenTrugbildern wirklich nichts zu tun. -Warum haben sie Poker gestohlen, wenn sie kein Feuer machen und kochen mussen? -Es gab mal einen sehr beruhmten Poker, aber meine Poker hier sind alle nur da zum Feuerschuren.
In this context, it’s not poker the game but poker the “Schurhaken”, something to tend a fire with.
Hope that helps.

I wrote you earlier today about proofread files which need to be evaluated before we can vet them. I had uploaded them to the files server http://translationstop.com/files/ (login: 001, pass: 001) into FTP folder. It is a rar file called “Compared files for.rar”.
I would greatly appreciate if you could take a look at them and let me know if the quality of proofreading is satisfactory. May I ask you to put special attention on files 17 s and 17t. The proofreader said they had not been translated according to our guidance, and required lot of proofreading. Would you please let me know what you think about that (both preformance of the translator and the proofreader).
Thank you in advance.

Thank you for the clarification. I am just starting my day here so I hope to get most of the samples assessed within the next hours or so.
1. Yes, if you could just mention in your email “File328.tfx” contains the entries to the glossary and “File324.txf” and “File326.txf” contain samples to assess for example that would be great. The date of upload helps me decide which file should be done first.
5. Yes, that would be perfect, thank you.
6. You can update it with the latest comments you received if you want and I’ll take care of it. I’m going to start by the assessments and hopefully I’ll have enough time to do everything today.
Please let me know if you receive any urgent question
With many thanks

This is a test
—————————-
I have uploaded the assessments 1,2,3 with my comments to the translators.

I hereby submit more samples as requested. Out of the 6 I tried to send, only 1 went through and since I was rushing, I was not paying attention to the error messages…
Now here are the samples as I translate my new file:
1. Source:-Exchange elemental beads
Target: -Echangez des perles elementaires
2. Source:-I treat everyone honestly, you wont be able to bully me!
Target: -Je traite tout le monde honnetement, vous ne pourrez pas m’intimider !
3. Source:-Take it cautiously.
Target: -Allez‚º‚º‚ºy precautionneusement.
4. Source:- got the legendary Cloud Crane mount by opening a Celeplume!

5. Source:-Oh, I see you’ve found a treasured Glazed Crane.
Target: -Oh, je vois que vous avez trouve une precieuse Grue vitree.
More samples later.

Target: -Si vous me donnez un Bol de tresor, je vous echangerai 10 mediums Fontesang contre l’Esper de votre choix.
4. Source:-Which Esper’s items do you want?<
Target: -Quelles pieces d’Esper voudriez‚º‚º‚º vous ?<
5. Source:-I have items for all Faction Espers up to and including level 105.<
Target: -Je dispose de pieces d’Espers de toutes les factions jusques et y compris au niveau 105.<
Thanks and regards.

As always, I’m happy to receive feedback on this work
—————————-
In the dictionary, “reviving orb” has been translated as “orbe ravivante”, so I have kept the feminine in my translation of “orb” though other translators seem to have used the masculine.

We have several proofread files which need to be evaluated for quality of proofreading before we can vet them. Do you think you would have time to take a look at them and let me know if the quality of proofreading is satisfactory? These files had been saves as doc files and compared to see the differences between the proofread and non proofread files.

High-quality work, the translator is doing great. He should update his glossary file since it looks like a very few terms might be outdated.

I am addressing you at ‘s request. We needght to have ready (i.e. – proofread, spellchecked and vetted) about 12 files, may-be a bit more. For this I need a German translator, for two things:
1. To spell-check the vetted files
2. To close some small language related issues vettors had spotted (repeating words, strangely located hyphens, all that requires knowledge of language)
3. there are few files which look like they haven’t been proofread. To proofread these files.
Do you think you can do that for me today? For 2., each file will come with a small note telling which segments to check.
It is very urgent.
Please let me know ASAP.
—————————-
I am going now over your file. Please do not make any changes in the source text! Make sure NOTHING is ever changed in the left English column, so that I can always refer to the exact original. This is most of the entire principle of what vetting is – comparing a translation against the original. It means that also ~55~ we do not change.
One more thing is that you still miss many locations where there is a space lacking between two sentences. These are quite easy to spot. Please try to notice them. You don’t even need to mark them red and inform me you changed, but just please try not to miss them.

Can I expect any answer if I have questions today?
Are there any details/instructions for this?
please let me know some more details on this task.

I’ve vetted file 15t and uploaded it here, because I cannot open OT. All changes that I made were adding and removing spaces before text, so I have marked sells red and havn’t made a report – only this one concerning comparing files.
As for file 15o, I put many spaces between sentences, but as I see, not all.

I finished doing your 15o file, and just would like to repeat again 2 things – please do not change English source and please try to spot the joined sentences. One more thing – please do not change the actual translation. If translator decided to join sentences, or break a sentence, or use other punctuation marks than in English (, or , please do not change it. Leave as it is, because the file had been proofread (i.e. you see that there had been changes done when you compare files). If you see a mistake like repeating word and you are sure it’s a mistake – correct and mark red. If you are not sure, mark red and don’t chnage, I will leave to proofreader to decide.
Now if you see file had not been proofread = no differences when combining files, many merged sentences etc, let me know ASAP and don’t vet the file.
—————————-
Sorry, I missed this message. I understand why you uploaded here.
When you say “adding and removing spaces before text”, what do you mean? Like different row wight, what you said yesterday? When above English text there is more space than above the German? Or adding space where sentences were stuck together? Is it that or something else?
Please let me know.
—————————-
I understood your remarks.
What about time, it depends on file size.
—————————-
Thank you!!!! So that I could send you files, please open a ticket on the new OT? It’s here:
http://translationstop.com/OT/
Please make the title something like SPELCHECKING FILES -, and I will be able to pass you files.
I will try my best. Are those Excel files? Please send them to me, I will try to be as fast as I can…
Today I am addressing you at ‘s request. We needght to have ready (i.e. – proofread, spelchacked and vetted) about 12 files, may-be a bit more. For this I need a German translator, preferably you, for two things:
—————————-
I made sells as in original. If there was a space before text in row in original text, I also put space in translated text and vice versa – if there was not space before text in original file, I removed it if it was before text in translated file.
—————————-
Hello
Thank you alot, but it looks like I have someone who is comfortable with this to do it.
So no urgency at this point.
due to the urgency I‚´ll give it a try. But I have to say that I‚´ve never did any proofreading before. As long as it is grammar, spell check or just language related, I think I can help ( said just using the spellchecker in Excel).
But I‚´m not so confident with the game related content.
Can I expect any answer if I have questions today?
Are there any details/instructions for this?
please let me know some more details on this task.
—————————-
But I told you yesterday explicitly, that you should not do it!!!! I also mentioned that it might make problems to the game. So why do you keep doing it?
I made sells as in original. If there was a space before text in row in original text, I also put space in translated text and vice versa – if there was not space before text in original file, I removed it if it was before text in translated file.
—————————-
I can’t find any of your new files – 15 d, e, f, g, nor the r and s I assigned to you later. Where are they? I understood that you vetted them.
—————————-
I hope I’ve done this correctly, have submitted a ticket with the subject you asked me to…
So now I wait for your response?
Thank you!!!! So that I could send you files, please open a ticket on the new OT? It’s here:

Yesterday I asked you about another situation – when one text in a row is longer than another. Here is another thing. I looked in original file to check if there are spaces before or after text in a row. If I saw spaces, I made them in vetting file in corresponding rows.
Excuse me that we didn’t undestand each other and if I made wrong corrections.
—————————-
Than we really don’t have understanding. Can you please make me screen shots or direct me to particular cells with each these issues? Because in all files I vetted, I hadn’t changed anything in the beginning of the rows. I really don’t understand what you mean, while it is very important for me to understand so that we will all be doing same changes.

This is super important – please let me know where did you upload the vetted files? YOu said you completed 15d,e,f, and you have also another two.I don’t find them not on OT, not here, not on the file server. Yet I need them ASAP!
Please let me urgently know where are the files.
If you will open this message in more than one hour, e-mail the files directly to . But if possible, please let me know about their location before.
—————————-
I received your ticket and answered it. Did you receive the reply? There is an attachment with two problematic files there.
If you will finish with them withing more than half hour, please inform directly . We did not vet them, so please upload them to OT for me.
—————————-
yes, I received the two files and am working on them now, but I fear I will take longer than half an hour…. quality is crucial, right?
So I will send them via online ticket to ?
—————————-
Take as much time as you need, I’m afraid we will not be able to vet them immediately. In any case, please inform when you finish for a case he can do them himself. I think he will tell you if he wants them today or if I can do them tomorrow.

I would be able to provide them in few hours.

When you complete and upload here the rest of the files, Please let know.

I’m going over the files now. All is very good, only 2 things – we don’t make any changes to English, leave it exactly as it is, and it is better if you mark red the cell on the right of the problematic cell (third row) and leave your comment there as usual text, not hidden comment. then it is easier for proofreader to check later.
By the way, I don’t understand how, but I haven’t received these tickets!!! I will figure out tomorrow how it is possible, but please upload the last 2 files here.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you – yesterday we were finalizing files, so I just couldn’t find time.
Your comments are precious and donate to the quality of the final result, so please keep me updated, and I will forward everything approximately once a week to the lead translator.
As to quotations, I really don’t know – does it look like a problem? Does Transit sees them as protected tag?
As to reference material (i.e pretranslated segments) yes, it’s true, therefore all files will be proofread prior to delivery. Just be consistent with the new terms form the recent glossary.
I have a question: If I insert quotation marks (“term”), they appear in blue color (like in source text sometimes). Is it that problem?
And just some notes:
There‚´re typos in the main1 dictionary:
“Twin-Flowers” = “Zwillings-Bumen” (must be “Zwillings-Blumen”)
All terms starting with “Solitude-” are translated into “Einsamkeit-” (must be “Einsamkeits-”)
As you may know, the provided reference material within the assigned files is not much consistent. Terms within the pretranslated segments sometimes differ from current dictionary terms.
Please don‚´t take these comments as moaning. I just want to inform you.
—————————-
If you will open a ticket on the OT system I will forward you a very detailed beginners guide to setting Transit for the project.

On the first file you can also find lot of most recent instructions.
Thanks for your quick answer; actually I have already answered these questions

I will pass the new terms to lead translator, but generally if you come up with translations to previously untranslated terms, you can add them to the ADD_New dictionary. When you export it with your file, can incorporate the new term directly to the next version of the main dictionary.

Thank you for getting back to me.
I would like to clarify some of your comments as I’m not sure what you mean:
1. “regarding the files, in the future, could you please let me know which file (name) is related to what in the email ? (dictionary, translator, sample, etc.)” – Do you mean the translation samples or the comments to glossary?
2. From now on, I will name files “for” and put the upload date that you will be sure. My files are at the manager files, please ignore what translators had been uploading. All 4 files in the managers files section are from me to you.
3. Please review just the manager files
4. It doesn’t really matter if the translators already delivered the files (I also don’t know from which file are the samples, I just ask for few segments with 100-120 words). The purpose of the samples is to see if the translators are doing the right thing, so even if they are working on a different file, your general feedback on their quality and style is important. I pass them any comment you may have, even if they are already working on their next file I think it will still be very relevant.
5. To make things more simple and not to overload you with files, I propose that I will collect in one file comments to glossary, and in other – translators samples and upload them for you once a week. Though it is possible that once in a while will be a single urgent question from translator that I would have to clarify with you, then I will just message you here. Is this kind of organization convenient for you?
6. I have another file with quite lot of comments to glossary. Do you want me to upload it here, or to wait until you are done with the previous stuff?
I am looking forward to see your comments – as without them I don’t know how are our translators doing!
Hello it’s nice to meet you.
First of all, I apologize for the delay. I have been finishing some tasks for and I thought I would never find the time to get back to you. From now on, I will devote more of my time working with you.
Allright, regarding the files, in the future, could you please let me know which file (name) is related to what in the email ? (dictionary, translator, sample, etc.) The interface doesn’t show the date/time of upload and the files are not attached in the email from my perspective so it’s hard to find what is what.
There are files in both the manager’s column and in the translator’s column, do you want me to review all of them or just the manager files ?
Since there was some delay, are there any samples that have become obsolete ? I already proofread the entire file 8k, maybe there is a sample from the same translator/file in there. If it is indeed the case, there is no need to assess it twice, so please let me know.
Sorry about the trouble, I have to pick up from the start here so I need to sort things out.
Many thanks for your help
My name is and I’m a beginner PM for this project.
Please find uploaded 2 files for your attention. One contains comments of translators to freshly submitted translated files. On the bottom of the file there are also comments to the new dictionary, indicating inconsistencies and possible mistakes.
If it is more convenient for you to receive comments to files and comments to dictionary as separate files, please let me know, and in the future I will organize them as separate docs.
The other file is a sample of several segments from a new translator. I would appreciate if you took a look and informed me if the translator is doing the right thing and if you have any comments for him.

You’ve done a great work yesterday! Way to go.
Now we are waiting for the next load of proofread files to be ready and we begin the next round.
I am still trying to figure out how it’s possible that I did not received notifications of the tickets you submitted and why I couldn’t see them on the ticketing website. Was there something you filled up differently in the ticket submission than the first time you submitted a ticket (which I received)? Did you post to different category may-be? I checked what you sent me. Were you vetting the files in Excel, right?
Well we really don’t care about the column and row height in Excel, only about the text itself, as the client is going to paste the text into his videogame. So everything which is around the text we do not touch. Please concentrate just on the text – missing or extra spaces between sentences, missing periods, double or mislocated hyphens, +marks, ~55~ etc. And we do not make any changes to English text, even if there is a mistake, and also we do not change if translators decided to replace comma with semicolon, or to break a sentence according to their linguistic view and sense. If you still think there is a mistake, mark red, leave comment, but do not change. The file will be reviewed by a native speaker and he will check.
In any case, you did a good work yesterday, and the last files were already better. We are now waiting for the next cluster of proofread files, hopefully from beginning of the week.
asked me to request for your working hours, so please send me as Word file, stating hours per day, and what were the assignments you did each day.

Welcome to the team. I’d like to emphasize that reading carefully instructions to this game and particularly special instructions for French translators, which I think was already uploaded, is indispensable.
Bellow are answers to your questions:
1= The file sent me already has a few segments translated, should I edit these translations if they are wrong, or let them as is for the proofreader? I want to make sure I get credit for it or/and am not charged for the correction or screw up the process.
In the files you receive TM had already been incorporated. When you pass from segment to segment using Alt+Ins (marks your translated segments as Translated) or by Ctrl+Plus (does not mark the segment as translated), the cursor passes ONLY to segments you get paid for, segments which are not markes as translated. Some of them might have part translated, particularly if there is a glossary term (OD you remember to Insert all terms BEFORE you start working?). These segments you must translate, and you get paid for them. Other segments the program skips, or if you put your cursor in them, are marked Traslatede (you can see this in the gray line under the working window), you do not get paid for and you should not touch.
2= There are a lot of characters and places names that are not in the dictionary but I feel that we should be consistent with. Is there another resource somewhere for those terms? i.e. Archlord, Foxhill, Vier Blood Matrix etc.
One thing is that you can look how parts of these terms had already been translated. Click on the blue book button, it opens the glossary. Search for Matrix, Arch-otherthings etc. And like this you will find how it was translated before, and create new translation consistently with the previous ones. Then add the new term to the Add_New glossary. Please look on the new OT at the Database how to do it.
3= I noticed that the – is treated by removing the space between the 2 words: for instance voulezvous instead of voulez-vous. Is that the way to go?
You should have read this in the instructions. Hyphens can be replaced by .hhh.e, and you can make a macro for inserting .hhh. in one click.
Please let me know if these points are more clear now, as they are all very important.

Thank you!
I have some comments regarding consistency for the lead translator.
There seems to be some confusion with the terms Doom Boge and Deadpoole.
In the glossary, Doom Boge is consistently referred to as Marais Maudite, while Deadpoole is sometimes referred to as Marais Maudite ( Deadpool Wanderere Voyageur du Marais Maudite) but also as etang des mortse ( Deadpool Horrorse Horreurs de l’etang des mortse).
It might be less confusing to choose one consistent translation for Deadpoole.

I will add your suggestions to the file for lead translator.
Meantime, please take a look at the 2 files he uploaded yesterday (comments_dictionary_.doc). I think in the comments to dictionary file he refers to one of the terms you are mentioning.
Thank you.
While translating I have come across a few terms in the glossary, that did not sound very nice or made little sense
in the context.
“ValleyofAbandon” – at the moment: Aufgeben-Tal. I would suggest Verlassenes Tal, just simply because people do not seem
to give up in the valley, but that is it abandoned.
“Mount” – translated as “Reittier”, which means horselike animal (?), and I would rather say “Gipfel” or “Berg”.
“Laguna Collective” – translated as “Lagunen-Kollektive”, which sounds very business-like. I would suggest “Lagunen-Gruppe” or so…
“Spiked Wine” – translated as “Gluhwein” (“mulled wine”, oh no!), which should probably be “vergifteter Wein”

This message is for the lead translator.
I noticed a consistency issue with the terms Fox Pinke and Fox Rougee.
Fox Pinke is translated by renard rosee, but Fox Pink Recipee is translated by Recette rose renarde. The same issue applies to Fox Rougee.
In the glossary, Landscape Paintinge is translated by Peinture paysagee. Peinture de paysagee would be more appropriate.
There seems to be a glitch with an entry in the glossary. When quotation marks ( or e) appear in the English text they are translated into La vie n’est qu’un songe.eFrench:
Text in the English window: It said, “quickly sneak into the Surging Stockade, kill Riptide Cutlasses and disturb the enemies.”
Text in the French window: It said, La vie n’est qu’un songe.quickly sneak into the Surging Stockade, kill Coutelas trancheremous and disturb the enemies. La vie n’est qu’un songe.
This entry ( La vie n’est qu’un songe.) should be removed from the glossary since it is confusing and might lead to errors.

—————————-
Please forward this to the lead translator.
e¢ There is a consistency issue with Black Jade Chessmane and White Jade Chessmane. In the first case, chessmane is translated by pione and by piecee in the second. Piecee is the correct translation, since pione ( pawne in English) is the name of a specific chessman.
e¢ The translation for Mrs. Wonge was misspelled in French, it should be Mme Wonge instead of Mme. Wonge.
e¢ The translation for Incense Studente should be Etudiant de l’encense instead of °tudiant de l’encense since it was decided not to use accents on capital letters.
e¢ The translation for Kongu Avatare was misspelled in French, it should be Avatar de Kongue instead of Avatard de Kongue.
e¢ There is a similar issue with Ihoken Avatare, translated by Avatard d’Ihokene when it should be Avatar d’Ihokene
e¢ In order to remain consistent in the treatment of avatare, Tya Avatare should be translated by avatar de Tyae instead of avatar Tyae. All the other avatarse are translated by avatar dee¦e
e¢ There is a similar issue with the following entries: Suos Spirite, Tya Spirite, Suos Defendere, Tya Watchere, Suos Watchere.

Good morning
Okay, good (I mean, bad that so many changes, but good that you let me know).
3 things:
1. I checked one of your last files and haven’t spotted anything you missed, and that is VERY GOOD
- When you find something you want to let me know about, please mark red a cell on the right (third column) and leave your comment there in addition to the remarks you send me in Word.
2. Please send me these reports as Word files in OT, because it saves me time – I need the material in Word for .
3. Please leave the English source in the vetted file, do not delete it, I need it as well
AND, MOST IMPORTANT:
4. Did you vet any of the last files? told me this morning he needs as many vetted as possible to be finalized today, so please send me all you have done, and it you have time, I will send you two more.
Thank you in advance

I did not found these files through FTP. Are there in folder Proofread?
—————————-
Actually, file JD_100201_Localize_15g (from 15_all_after.proofread_wave2.zip) looks like not proofread.
Concerning three other my files (15d, 15e, 15f), I have completed the main part of vetting, but in compliance with your
recommendation I will look them through once-twice. This will take few hours. OK?
—————————-
The proofread files are 15_all_after.proofread_wave2.zip on FTP. They are out of the Proofread folder.
Please take a look on the instructions file I uploaded yesterday.
I did not found these files through FTP. Are there in folder Proofread?
—————————-
Good to have you online. Today may be a busy day.
Let’s do like this. Do a file and send it directly to me with OT. Then do other and send it as well. Leave the file which looks unproofread to the end, let’s first get done with the better files.

Today I am addressing you at ‘s request. We needght to have ready (i.e. – proofread, spelchacked and vetted) about 12 files, may-be a bit more. For this I need a German translator, preferably you, for two things:

I am uploading the first file (15d).

If there is no space after comma in the original, should I do it? (Line 364 file 15o)
—————————-
rules of punctuation in English and German differ. I see that in the translation translator did not put any commas in the sentence. Do not add comas yourself, and, importantly, do not make any changes to the English text, even if there’s a mistake. English stays how it is.
In other words, no changes are required to this sentence.
If there is no space after comma in the original, should I do it? (Line 364 file 15o)

I am about to complete the third file (15f).
So, please, you could provide me next files for vetting.

Don’t change.

I’ve uploaded file 15o to this site, because I have problems with ftp connection.

“Verteidigung- erheblich” was written with double hyphen and a space, that I left. How to correct this word (lines 53,56,59)?
—————————-
Please look at line 28 – in English text there is a point between two parts of word, and in German it’s hyphen. Do this need changes?
—————————-
Thank you, received. If possible, please upload the next to OT – open a new ticket and name it VETTED FILES, and attach the files to the ticket.
Don’t wait for me, begin the next file.
Once I check, I will get back to you in case I have any comments.
How is your availability today?
I’ve uploaded file 15o to this site, because I have problems with ftp connection.

I have been translated about few thousand letters for him. So, this just a conditioned reflex.

Okay, I see
FTP is just not working today, so drop it. Let’s use OT for uploading files. I had sent you a message where I proposed that you will pen a new ticket VETTED FILES, and attach the files to the ticket. This should work. Please use the New OT system, there is a link to it in the Links for PMs file I’ve uploaded to CS.
Please continue to filrs 15r and 15s.
PS: Please tell me how is your availability today?

I do not see the files in the German_Vetted folder on FTP. Did you upload the files there?
To upload files, in right window of Total Commander you choose files in the folder where they are saved on your computer, and drag them to the left window of Total Commander where is open the German_Vetted folder on FTP.
Please let me know wen files are uploaded.
I vetted files and sent them to FTP. I hope I did everything correctly.
Thank you for your explanations.

Concerning text, I did not change signs as “fffff” and because they were in the original text too.
I can work 5-6 hours a day.

I did like you told at once. I see these files in folder German Vetted.
—————————-
Yes, I see the files now, for some reason only on internet and not on TC. Strange… I will take a look at them right away.
And yes, fffff type of stuff we don’t touch, it usually indicates commands of the game’s.

I have just sent my next file to (German_10001_09_DEU_g). I found two terms in the main1 dictionary that I haven‚´t applied on my text.
The first term I suspect a mistake is “White Tiger‚´s Beard” which was given as “Weiser Tiger-Perle”. I translated this into “Weiser Tigers Bart”. I believe previous
translators confusion came up by mixing up “Beard” with “Bead”.
The second term was “Level” given as “Level”, but in medi-evil speaking AND in context I had to translate it with “Ebene” (context: spiritual level in meditation).
Apart from these two terms I stuck and still stick to consistency as instructed. Please inform me if this wasn‚´t the correct.

Apparently you have not received the email so here it is again:
Currently I am translating text 18c and have two questions:
1) How do we have to translate measures, yardse in this case. I suppose we should not leave it as yards, but how do I have to deal with it?
2)The text contains the abbreviations AP andLV.Please let me know what they mean and if you have already agreed on a common translation.
Here some suggestions for the glossary:
- SACRIFICE: Opfergabe, with p, not b
- RIVER DWELLER: Fluss-Bewohner, according to the new German writing rules with ss
- BLESSING OF SPRING: Segnung des Fruhlings, so with an s at the end
- SWIFTNESS: was translated as Geschwindheit, shouldn¢‚¬„¢t it be Geschwindigkeit?
- WISDOM OF SCRIPTURES: what about Weisheit der Schriftene, instead of Weisheiten-Schriften?
- SKILL/SKILLS: could you add it as Fahigkeit/Fahigkeiten to the glossary?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Please vet files:
JD_100201_Localize_15i
JD_100201_Localize_15j
3 remarks:
1) When uploading them, keep the source in the left column, don’t delete it.
2) Please add German_ in the beginning of the file names
3) Please watch also for other issues which would dissatisfy the client – lacking periods (where there is a period in the source), or obvious missing capitalization in the beginning of the sentence, lacking space between sentences etc. It doesn’t require German.
4) there were “lost” hyphens in the end of few sentences in 15b, this should also be spotted. Actually, any difference form the source. After will take additional look at the files I will send them to you to see what are the issues which needed to be spotted in addition of the mentioned before. I understand that it’s possible that instructions were not clear enough on this point.
When you find an issue like above, mark the cell red and add a comment (also a message to me with all comments when uploading the file, just as you did). If there are lot of problems, let me know ASAP and we will return the file to proofreaders.
Also to your comments – there is no problem with N/A leave as they are, though there shouldn’t be any n/aaaa kind of things; hieroglyphs leave as in source; all fffffff type of things are commands of the game, leave as in source.
Please confirm upon receipt.

I had just uploaded 2 files for you. One is samples of 2 new translator and the other is few remarks on the glossary (multiple translations and possible mistake).
Thank you.

AP=Attack Power=Angriffsstarke
LV=Level=Level
Yard should remain Yard (miles=Meilen, inch=Zoll, etc.)
I have assessed the two samples (3 and 4, correct?):
Both are very good, good style, good atmosphere, very good term solutions.
If wanted, they can have a look at (very few) comments I left in file samples3+4comments_.doc.
Here are my comments for the other suggestions, I also uploaded them (comments_dictionary_.doc)
Suggestions for changing the glossary entries (quite important)
mystic serpent mystische Schlange
Very valid, but we would have to change every term with mystic, resulting in 20 terms to be changed, and I have to
talk with about it, because it will affect proofreading for a lot of older files.
plate Teller
Unfortunately, I have not been able to ultimately confirm that plate is a sort of armor, but since it is always
part of series like: steel boots, steel corslet, steel helm, steel PLATE, it most probably is an armor part, not a
eating utensil. If you have a context in which it appears otherwise, please forward to me.
medicine for curing plague Medizin zur Heilung der Pest
I thought this too at first, but we do not actually know if they are referring to the ¢‚¬Å¾Pest or to any plague, and
also, we would have to change many termse¦ Will talk on this with the project manager.
laguna collective Lagunen-Gemeinschaft
As I understand it, the laguna collective is a place, not an order or community, so I think Kollektive sounds a
little bit more general (allowing for a locatione-interpretation).
Suggestions for changing the glossary entries (less important)
star Stern
Done
might kunnte
This is a problem: Might is of course Macht/Starke/etc., but might is kunnte. The software in its standard settings
does not heed upper and lower case when inserting. Therefore, because it would lead to big problems if we had the
duplicate entry Might/might, I decided to leave Might in there and have translators (sorry for that) change it if
the meaning is incorrect.
party Fest
Same as above, this has to be adjusted by the translator.
brigands keep Brigantenfeste
Changed from BrigantenFeste to Briganten-Feste
spirit fox Geisterfuchs
Of course, this would sound better, but as stated in the guidelines, hyphens are employed with most compound terms.
Considering changing Geist- to Geister-.
toxin sacs Giftbeutel
I took this term (Giftsack) from another large MMORPG.
Suggestions for new glossary entries
Generally: This is actually what the ADD_NEW.pxf dictionary is for, so you can add terms which will then be
reviewed and incorporated into the main dictionary. Please refer to online instructions on how to do this.
blackwater gulch Schwarzwasser-Schlucht
This term should be in the MAIN GLOSSARY. Please check if you are really working with the latest version under
http://translationstop.com/files/Glossary/German_MAIN.dictionary.pxf
dark drake cave Dunkle Drachenhuhle
miasma of bog Miasma desMoores
foxhill Fuchsberg
lunar well Mondquell
pavillion of the wave Wellenpavillon
“provision” – “Proviant”
Since we do not know if provisions refer only to edibles, we settled with
Vorrate.
“construction” – Aufbau
“teleeye” – “Teleauge”
“mountjadeon” – “Berg Jadeon”
Please report if you can add the above terms or if you would like me to do it. THank you for your excellent
participation.
Corrections and additions form other trnslator:
SACRIFICE: Opfergabe, with p, not b
RIVER DWELLER: Fluss-Bewohner, according to the new German writing rules with ss
BLESSING OF SPRING: Segnung des Fruhlings, so with an s at the end
SWIFTNESS: was translated as Geschwindheit, shouldn¢‚¬„¢t it be Geschwindigkeit?
WISDOM OF SCRIPTURES: what about Weisheit der Schriftene, instead of Weisheiten-Schriften?
SKILL/SKILLS: could you add it as Fahigkeit/Fahigkeiten to the glossary?
All valid, changed as indicated (Swiftness=Schnelligkeit now). Thank you for your excellent participation.
I had uploaded for you 2 files – one with samples of two new translators, and other with several comments to glossary, corrections and proposals for adding words.

—————————-
I am about to complete.
One question, please.
I have found that sometimes we have “three dots” as one sign (results of auto substitution?) in an original text
while in a translated text this corresponds to mere three dots. Only the latter could be scanned as a “dot” (dot + dot + dot).
Is this difference is critical?

Here is the response form the Lead Translator!
AP=Attack Power=Angriffsstarke
LV=Level=Level
Yard should remain Yard (miles=Meilen, inch=Zoll, etc.)
As to your corrections, he wrote “All valid, changed as indicated (Swiftness=Schnelligkeit now). Thank you for your excellent participation.”
So thank you for your participation!
Any new terms you may have (not correction to existing please add to the Add_New glossary.

I just got a response form the Lead Translator regarding your sample. That’s what he says:
“I have assessed the two samples (3 and 4, correct?):
Both are very good, good style, good atmosphere, very good term solutions.
If wanted, they can have a look at (very few) comments I left in file samples3+4comments_.doc.
Here are my comments for the other suggestions, I also uploaded them (comments_dictionary_.doc)”
So it was very good! Way to go!
Please take a look at his comments to the sample and also to comments he left for proposals of corrections to glossary, they are very useful.

When vetting, our middle name is “Stick To Source”. So even if there are 5 suspension points in the source instead of the classical three, we make sure target is same.
Or do you mean something else?
I am not sure I understand your question.

Thank you for your kind and detailed response! I learned a lot of your comments, and translators will benefit even more.
I informed the relevant translators.
I can not see the files you’ve uploaded on the site, is it possible that they did not get uploaded?

I think this is just associated with copying from EXCEL to WORD and does not matter much for original EXCEL files.
Please don’t mind.

Please forward the following comments to the lead translator.
One of the glossary terms seems to have been mistranslated.
In the glossary, the French equivalent of Wanderers’ Gallse is La fille du vagabonde, but it makes no sense in the segment I am translating:
If you kill some Deadpool Wanderers and swallow the Wanderers’ Galls to try out their medicinal effects for me, I’ll tell you how to drive the Abyssal Vipers awaye
I think a more appropriate translation would be bile du vagabonde.
—————————-
I will take a look at the files. But if you find a +, this cell needs to be marked red, and you should comment to me which cell it was. During the translation process translators were marking with + any segment/term they were not sure about. Therefore if + remained in the target, we have to send the file back to proofreader.
Generally I would prefer your reports to be more specific and organized for example like this:
Report:

—————————-
I think it is very clear form the context you have that “Wanderers’ Galls” means “bile/bile stones of the Wanderers”, not the “girl”. Translate according to the context, I will pass this to proofreader.

Hi :
I just got started (had to finish a previous project that lasted more than expected, but isn’t that always the case)
Per ‘s instructions, here is a translation sample. I also had 3 questions for you:
1= The file sent me already has a few segments translated, should I edit these translations if they are wrong, or let them as is for the proofreader? I want to make sure I get credit for it or/and am not charged for the correction or screw up the process.
2= There are a lot of characters and places names that are not in the dictionary but I feel that we should be consistent with. Is there another resource somewhere for those terms? i.e. Archlord, Foxhill, Vier Blood Matrix etc.
3= I noticed that the – is treated by removing the space between the 2 words: for instance voulezvous instead of voulez-vous. Is that the way to go?
Thanks, Fabienne
Anyway, here is a sample of my translation:
-
-I have some information regarding Shaw Danon. -Could you please do me a favor? -I have an urgent matter at hand….-
-The Archlord of Vim has captured four Ancient Yasho and imprisoned them in a cave deep within Foxhill Tomb. -He is planning to use them to summon the Vier Blood Matrix. -If he succeeds, the world will be thrown into further chaos.-
-Killing just one of them should be enough. -However, the place is protected by Vim Elder Gu. -You will need to get his permission in order to enter the area where the Ancient Yasho are being held.-
-It’s going to be tough, but not impossible. -But before we get ahead of ourselves, you will need to kill one hundred Slitherwing Cobras and the Felis Berserker in order to prove that you are worthy enough to enter the area.-
-What do you need me to do?
—————————-
I have some comments regarding consistency for the lead translator.

Additionally I added more information on what to look for and showed how to present me information in your report. Please try to send me a message via the new OT system that I will know it is all working for you.
Additionally, please FEEL COMFORTABLE to ask me if anything is not clear or if you feel any doubt.

You are assigned files 15d,e,f, and g.
Please follow the new instructions I’ve uploaded today. These files are found in the server – folder 15 – German – 15_all_after.proofread_wave2.zip. Please download and unzip, and work only with the files you’ve been assigned.
Please don’t forget to Compare these files against the non proofread files before you vet them against the English source.
Please ask me if anything is not clear.

I would like to inform you that I’ve uploaded new instructions to the CS. There is one more step we would like PMs to do prior to vetting. All info is in the file. Additionally, I would like you to give a try with first two files to vet against the Origins (and to compare against the non proofread files).
You will download them with the zip folder 15_all_after.proofread_wave2.zip for the first step. The source files I uploaded to server as well, this is the Origins folder on the server. Files there are already renamed, and there is no need to rename them again.
Please download the Origins, the Proofread files and the non proofread ant try to follow the instructions.
Is it not too much chaotic? Please let me know if it is, I will try to explain better. Please keep in mind that I live on GMT+6, so if you ask me a question in the evening, I might be right in the middle of the night, and you will see my response on the next day. It is not a rush, I would like you to take your time and report on the progress/questions.
Also please confirm receipt of this message.

Thank you! This system is working now, but I will send a copy using OP system, as you recommend me.
Please let me know if the tomorrow morning (about 4 GMT) would be OK for these four files vetting completion.
Thanks for extra instructions.

I received your email with instructions.
I will upload them when ready and inform you.

I‚´ve uploaded my translation here on this site but I‚´m not sure if I should have sent my files directly to . I couldn‚´t find exact information about that point.
So I‚´m sorry if I bother you by doing this the wrong way.
Please find a zip file (German_10001_08_DEU_w_+_doc.zip) uploaded here that contains the txf file and a doc file. The txf should contain the german translation and also the new add dictionary into which I entered several entries. The doc file contains a table with some personal suggestions for the main1 dictionary and a list of the segments numbers that contain needless hyphens that need to be deleted (I won‚´t risk to deactivate the tag protection).
There are segments in the translation with a “+” within that need to be viewed either to delete needless hyphens or to check translation. If I wasn‚´t completely confident with my translation I left them marked “not translated” (12 segments) and if I was just a bit unconfident about a word or phrase I marked them “translated” (as the instructions by say).
If there‚´s any technical problem with the files please contact me immediately. I also appreciate any feedback on my translation.
Thank you and Happy Easter

I don’t really know when it will be the last one, as I’ll keep translating for another few weeks!
But I might pause for a few days to help another translator on another project, so I assume you can take the last file I’ve sent you as the last one.

I have the following problem:
I downloaded the document for translation ‘JD_100201_Localize_8x’. I’m able to load the project
but Transit keeps showing an error message when I want to import the contained translation file.
Everything worked fine when I tried the same thing with the sample file. I wonder if this file for translation
might be defect. Would you be able to check this for me and upload it again if so?
wrote as a response that he had not uploaded the right file yet and that this would be done
but I have not seen the right file on the system and want to get started on the translation.
Can you please respond asap?
Thank you!

Your file is the second file from bellow in folder 8. I just checked it – it works perfectly. Please try to download it again.
Having downloaded, go to Project -Receive, and find the file in the folder where you downloaded it. Then make sure the dictionary for this project is the Main dictionary (Project-Settings- Termstar dictionaries tab-Add ). Then click the “Open language pair” button above the working field or go to File-Open-language pair.
It all opens smoothly. Then insert terma how explained, Add the Add_New dictionary and begin working.
Let me know if it works.
PS: If it works, please send me about 15 segments translated by you as evaluation sample.

Thank you for getting back to me.
I noticed several people had been trying to reach me on weekend through CS unsuccessfully. You can see if the message got posted if it appears in your “outbox” after refreshing the page. This way you can know. Other option is OT system, which is more for translators, but it always works, so you can reach me also there. I will upload a list of project links, OT among them, in a few moments. Generally, if you posted your message in the morning and I didn’t get back to you within half an hour it means that the message did not get posted.
As to vetting, I will now post additional doc with server info and we can begin!

You do not send the completed files to me. You e-mail them directly to , as he instructed in the mailing list message today in the morning.
For me you should choose about 15 segments you translated yourself (not pretranslated ones), and paste here the sourse and target text.

sent me my first file and he asked that I send you a few samples of my translation to make sure I am on the right track. Before I do so, though, I wanted to ask you about a few terms I could not find in the dictionnary and was not sure how to translate :
1. Moontop Hollow (Moontop is in the dictionnary as part of Moontop Giant) : cratere du sommet lunaire ?
2. Darkrope Hell : enfer de sombrecorde ?
3. Is Esper masculine or feminine : un ou une esper ?
4. Snowflake Bees : I translated it “abeilles flocon de neige”, but I then came across a pretranslated part of my file reading “Guepes flocon de neige” (capital letter I did not put and guepe instead of abeille). What do you want me to do about that?
I have not finished translating my file yet but here are two samples of the work I have done so far:
Source text sample1:
Wrong. -The Snowflake Bee is unique. -It is recorded in the Hall of Excellence that Snowflake Bees live in icy mountains. -They live in groups and have white wings, thus their name. -The honey they produce has five colors, so we call it FiveColor Dew. -Its taste is rumored to be one of the most wonderful things in existence.-
-Now, if you can get some FiveColor Dew from Snowflake Bees for me, I’d be willing to split half of it with you. -It’s a taste one shouldn’t pass up on trying. -Probably.-
-I recently discovered some Snowflake Bees at Dark Bamboo Grove. -I think the incursion of the Yasho forced them to relocate. -Please collect some for me
Source text sample2:
The Heralds of the Underworld are responsible for punishing evil and reincarnating the dead. dead. -Devi got orders from a Herald of the Underworld again in his dreams saying that some Yasho must be dealt with and sent to a hell.-
-I met with the Herald of the Underworld in my dreams again.-
-He said your previous two feats are already recorded in the Book of Life and Death. -Your good deeds will be rewarded one day. -With so many Yasho in this world, however, the job is never over.-
-Good. -This time it is the third Herald, Lord Sungteh. -His main charge is the Darkrope Hell.-
I am looking forward to hearing from you
Thanks in advance for your help

I have a few comments for the lead translator regarding consistency.
Grasstemple is translated 3 different ways in the glossary
TempleHerbe
Templed¢‚¬„¢Herbe
grasstemple
Archguru has 2 different translations in the glossary
archigourou
grand gourou
And depending on the translation you chose, should archlord be translated by archiseigneur or grand seigneur ?

I do not speak French, therefore unfortunately I can’t help you with translation. Act as proposed – if you really don’t know, don’t Alt+ins the segment, just skip to next. If not sure, mark + after the problematic expression.
If some term appears in the pretranslated part, use it. Did you insert all terms from the glossary?

Very Good! As to reaching me – use OT if you don’t get an answer here for more than half hour. Also check if message really got sent.
Back to business- let’s get started.
Please start with files:
JD_100201_Localize__15a
JD_100201_Localize__15b
Please download the originals.rar from Originals folder (from FTP, there I had already renamed them) and work with corresponding source files.
I live in GMT+6. Therefore, I will be online another hour or a bit more. Try to ask me questions if you have any during this period, and if not – post your questions here and you will receive my responses tomorrow morning. Take in mind, that there is over 60,000 words to vet.Lotof work!
Having finished these files, please upload them to Vetted directory on the FTP server, having renamed them as I requested in the guidelines you’ve read.
I will ask to take a look, and if all is fine I will assign you more files tomorrow.
Thanks for detailed instructions and useful links. I confirm the receipt.

thanks for your quick reply.
I will put a + sign in front of the words I mentionned in my previous mail to make sure the lead translator takes a close look at them. I did include all the terms from the glossary, except when it was obvious the wrong translation was suggested (example : “die” is not always the singular of dice but can also be the verb “to die”).
I am sorry to insist on the “Snowflake Bees” term but the glossary includes the word “bee” in many expressions and it is always translated as “abeille” in French. That is why I am surprised it should be translated as “guepe” as this word does not refer to the same animal (“guepe” is a wasp). I just wanted to double check that this is the right translation as seemed to be very concerned about the consistency throughout the translations.
Do you want me to send you more samples of my translation as I move further along, or shall I wait to hear from the previous ones to know how it went?
—————————-
Meantime please use the Bee from the dictionary (though it’s a Wasp). I will forward the remark to proofreader.
You don’t need to send more samples, as we don’t want to overload the lead translator – he is just over-occupied. From what you sent I didn’t use all segments, but picked about half of them for the sample.

If you mean 3-6 PM, please take in mind that these are best hours of the night where I live. Therefore may you have any questions you’d like to have resolved the same day, try to login a bit earlier. If you meant 3-6 AM, no problem, I’m online!
Thank you and sorry for bothering you during night time.
I will try to complete this tomorrow morning, probably your assistance would be helpful.
Let¢‚¬„¢s start from 4-5 hours a day.
I could arrange my working day in a rather flexible way, but during a day I could be involved
in other translation jobs, so some delay is possible. Please inform me if this is not that critical.
From 3:00 to 6:00 (GMT) I am always available.
—————————-
Nice to have your response. Take a look in the files section here on CS – I uploaded more files – links files and how to connect to FTP (though I understand that you already connected.). The FTP file contains also explanation how do I assign files, how do you rename them and where do you upload them once done.
Please take a look and let me know when you’re ready.
PS:
I live at GMT+6. This means, that I am best contactable in the morning and early afternoon. If you post me a question later in the evening, my response would come in the morning next day.
I have read the instructions on vetting carefully. I installed total commander, and connected via ftp. I downloaded origin files and renamed them according to instructions.
—————————-
I have already downloaded files with useful links and how to connect FTP server. I connected to FTP server, I read the information about file renaming and where I need to upload them once done.
I think, I am ready.
—————————-
Thank you for your answer.
If I might be helpful, considering my little experience, I could be available till April, 30 up to 10 hours a day.
I am always available during day time from 3 to 7 AM or from 1 AM in emergency cases. As far as I understood 2-3 PM should be the deadline hour. OK.
I could arrange my work in between (from 7 am to 2 pm) up to your advice. But one 2-3 hours break is desirable.

Very good.
Then let’s get started.
Please start with files:
JD_100201_Localize__15c
JD_100201_Localize__15h
Please download the originals.rar from Originals folder (from FTP, there I had already renamed them) and work with corresponding source files.
Having finished these files, please upload them to Vetted directory on the FTP server, having renamed them as I requested in the guidelines you’ve read.
Take in mind, that there is over 60,000 words to vet.Lotof work!
I will ask to take a look, and if all is fine I will assign you more files once it’s done.
—————————-
I started to vet files, and I have a question. Could these character glitches be in both original text and translation? Thank you in advance for your reply.
—————————-
i have a question to the glossary. In the glossary there is equal to:in Huhe von, this does not really fit for me. Normally it is translated as gleicht… Can you ask the Lead-Translator?
Tank you!
—————————-
The thing is that since our text is a video game, it has characters, which are part of the game command code (&, fffff, and more). Transit, the program which was used to help translating this projects, sees some of these characters as tags. This was problematic. Therefore, these characters, for example, “&”, were replaced with combination of symbols that Transit does not recognize as tags, for example “~55~”. Therefore these changes are since the beginning in the origin files. And translators were copying these combination to the target. But since target is going to be installed to the same game, we need to return the characters which were part of the game’s commands into the target language text. For this reason we are scanning for these changes and replacing them. On the other side, hyphens you will see in the origin as hyphens, while in the target there may be .hhh. or or even u^. Why translators marked hyphen this way? Because for unknown reason Transit considered hyphens as tags. So in this case the strange things are only in target, and need to be changed to normal hyphens.
Do this answer your question?
I started to vet files, and I have a question. Could these character glitches be in both original text and translation? Thank you in advance for your reply.

In general, we do not ask lead translator “how to translate”. You just mark segments/expressions you are not sure about with + or just skip them. But if you explained me clearly the source of your doubts, possible that I could give you an advice. I don’t speak German. Therefore try to explain the problem in more details, i.e. source, target and what’s in the Glossary.

—————————-
Ok
In the glossary there is one expression which is “equal to” and it is translated as “in Huhe von”. How can I explain you in more details? It is only this one expression. You will find the expression “equal to” in no dictionary as “in Huhe von”.
—————————-
I vetted files and sent them to FTP. I hope I did everything correctly.
Thank you for your explanations.
—————————-
Do you mean, that an expression, which is in different cases same in English, requires use of different terms in German?
Is that right?
In this case, where is possible to use correctly the version for the dictionary – please use it. But if you have a sentence, where the translation from the dictionary just doesn’t fit, don’t sound German or grammatically incorrect, use your consideration and apply the term which should be in German. Nevertheless, proper names we must always use same as in glossary for consistency.
Does this reply your question?

Please when informing me of uploaded files add in the message any comments you may have about the file. If now comments – please write “no comments”.
I will take a look straight away.
Can you please write how may hours per day/week are you available?

Yes thank you!

Welcome!
You see – I don’t even need to know German

I am checking. Meantime leave it as it is.
Yes I’m working with the new dictionary he uploaded today.
Do I leave all the current translations as they are, or do I adopt one single definition?
I’m very glad that you pay attention to these things.
Did you download the new French dictionary uploaded today to the server? It is very possible that these issues are repaired there.
Please check that, and besides yes, making a list in Excel is great.
I’ve noticed that a term such as “Deadpool” has several translations in the glossary: “°tang des morts, bassin des morts, marais maudit”
According to me, “Marais maudit” is the best one, but in the file I’m translating, the segments already translated don’t use the same translation: some have “°tang des morts”, some others have “bassin des morts”, and some others “marais maudit”.
I was thinking about putting “marais maudit” everywhere, but maybe I shouldn’t do that, what do you think?
Anyway I’m creating a list of words I think are not very correct in an Excel file, to give to , as he asked me.
—————————-
Sorry I have another question: I don’t see any .TXF file though I’ve saved my project. Where can I find it or how can I create it?
—————————-
That’s great. I’m very happy.
HAPPY EASTER

He should apply NEW glossary terms and abandon anything before.
Just stick to his parts and let the proofreader deal with the pretranslations.”
So leave the pretranslations as they are, and use a new glossary term for your untranslated segments.

Please find here below a few comments on my translation for the file in subject:
1. In Segment I assumed the verb “take” is missing
2. Segment and , a not so funny word play with witch I’m not very confortable (I’ve used the + symbol)
3. Around the segments , the discussion seems much less formal, so I’ve used “tu” instead of “vous” to translate “you”
4. Segment “Stage” has been left untranslated as suggested by the TM, but I would think that “Etape” would be more appropriate in French.
Hope this helps

For whom are you uploading this file? Is it a final translated file?
—————————-
In response to your last message entitled “New file”.
When I finish a translation (in this case it was the file 15s), I send it in .TXF to and in parallel I send my comments to the PM (yourself). So it is my final translated file, after having proofread my translations. Are you happy with this way forward? Or did I misunderstand your question?
—————————-
Please find here below a few comments on my translation for the file in subject:
1. In Segment I assumed “crane” instead of “cane”
2. From Segments to : quite a lot of Chinese with some English, to be checked.
3. Segment , “Craft” was already translated by “Metier”, however, I translated myself “Job” by “Metier” in Segment . To be checked.
4. I’ve corrected “Ancestres” by “Ancetres” (appearing several times), another translator’s error. The sentence “Storm Jadeon, then crush Skysong” (appearing several times) was marked already translated by another translator, but left in English. I’ve corrected this.
5. There are a few abbreviations I can’t translate. I’ve not used ALT INS, so the proofreader can locate them easily. I’ve also used a few + to be looked at more carefully.
Hope this helps

My name is I am organizing vetting of files for a large project we are working on.
These are excel files, which had been translated using Transit CAT tool, later proofread, and now waiting to be vetted and spell-checked.
Vetting consists of comparing the translation against the source to make sure that nothing is missing and of correcting certain characters, which needed to be replaced by numbers or other signs because they had been making problems in Transit. While vetting, we do not edit the translation itself. It is not hard, but requires lot of attention and strictly following instructions.
Today I attached the first instructions file (there will be at least one more as we prepare things). Please download it, and read it carefully. There are no translated files to download yet, but you can meantime download the origin source files and rename them according to instructions.
I am looking forward working with you.

Please find here below a few comments on my translation for the file in subject:
Quite a number of segments were not translated but however marked as such. I’ve corrected the followings:
Enlightenment (into: illumination)
Mystic (into: mystique)
AttackRange(into: Distance d’attaque)
PowerRange(into: Puissance d’attaque)
Septs has been corrected into Sept
“Glower helmet” has “Casque” only as entry to the dictionary, I’ve added “lugubre” (Casque lugubre)
Hope this helps

Also here it seems like you intended to, but forgot to insert segment numbers: “In Segment??? I assumed…”
Can you please check? Your comments are valuable, but it will be much easier for proofreader understand what you mean if there will be a segment number.

Sorry for these missing segments. Actually, I experience some difficulties with this virtual office (error when sending messages) so I work first in Word, using the superior to and inferior symbols to on each side of the segment number, wich apparently is removed when copied from Word and pasted here ; and as I didn’t check before sending… So here below is the complete version:
Please find here below a few comments on my translation for the file in subject:
1. In Segment 784 I assumed “crane” instead of “cane”
2. From Segments 1032 to 1040: quite a lot of Chinese with some English, to be checked.
3. Segment 1397, “Craft” was already translated by “Metier”, however, I translated myself “Job” by “Metier” in Segment 1413. To be checked.
4. I’ve corrected “Ancestres” by “Ancetres” (appearing several times), another translator’s error. The sentence “Storm Jadeon, then crush Skysong” (appearing several times) was marked already translated by another translator, but left in English. I’ve corrected this.

Please send me the sample on your earliest convenience.

Dark Bamboo Grove? -Oh, I see. -There lives a kind of poisonous bee called Buzz Pack in Dark Bamboo Grove. -It’s almost identical to the Snowflake Bee in appearance, and their honey is also almost identical, except that the color is a little lighter. -Issa must have mistaken Buzz Packs for Snowflake Bees. -Don’t worry, it isn’t fatal. -Give this antidote to him.
Vanti the Etherblade once imparted me a special set of skills that can help remove your impatience. -However, if you don’t have enough power, you may be hurt by it. -So, if you are able to get rid of Feline Felons at Abyssal Lands and prove you have enough power, I’ll use the skill to help you remove your impatience.

Please find here below a few comments on my translation for the 4 files in subject, as most of the comments concern all of them, along with comments on the dictionary entries (but for the sake of consistency, I’ve used unmodified dictionary entries when existing). I have introduced about 130 new terms, mainly Proper names, based on already existing terms I’ve searched in the new dictionary (if this explanation makes any sense!)
1. I feel sorry for having left files this way, but quite a number of segments were already marked as translated, however they still contain English words. This is probably because someone working on the reference/repetition files used ALT INS for segments containing untranslated Proper Names. I’ve also noticed some translations inconsistent with the new dictionary. But as I have to translate untranslated segments (i.e. not marked as already translated), I ignored (mostly, see next point) those issues, leaving the corrections to your proofreader. A complete proofread would have taken me a lot of time for which I wouldn’t have been paid.
2. However, I’ve corrected a few problems: one/some translators have problems with French accents: tres has been corrected by tres, completement by completement, elementaire by elementaire, poussiere by poussiere
3. Check a few keywords which I found left in English: transform, charm, mystic, item, stash, energy bar, beade¦
4. File 17p, segment 1237, Samsara Pool has been kept for consistency with fuzzy match, but I think that Etang de Samsara would be better.
5. I believe that File 17p, segment 1664 I have to read Tassel instead of Tassle
6. I believe that File 17q, segment 181 I have to read Lambskin instead of Lampskin
7. I’ve kept Voidland as suggested by the fuzzy match but I believe that Terrevide would be more appropriate
8. File 17r, segments 235 and 238 are strange, please check them
Dictionary entries comments:
Bosses have been translated as Patrons, but I’ve been previously told that they were not Patrons but monsters!
Border xxx have inconsistent translations (I would go for de Frontiere)
Grasstemple xxx have inconsistency translations (I would go forTempleHerbe)
Celebra could be translated by Celebra (using accent, as for Jadeon)
Refined has been translated by Raffine, but it might be worth considering Purifie (sounds better to me)
Fragrant has been translated by Odorant, but it might be worth considering Parfume (odorant may sound negative)
Hope this helps
As always, I’m happy to receive feedback on this work

you will receive a message from Kosman, in which he will tell you “below you can see which files have been assigned to you:” and bellow there will be a list of numbers and files. The numbers would be repetitions and total words etc, while the file name would be the actual file you are expected to translate. Do you already have full version of Transit installed?

Alright, no didn’t tell me he assigned me files for the moment. Yes I have a full version of Transit installed, it works.
As I told , I won’t be here from April 3rd to April 12th, so I’ll start working on the translations as soon as I’ll be back. Maybe I’ll start today or tomorrow though, if I have some files assigned.

Thank you. I don’t know the filename, but the project title is 1001_French. Maybe I don’t have any files assigned yet?
Welcome. Which file are you looking for? What do you want to download?
I’m a new translator, I thought there was a file I could download here, but apparently it’s not the case. Is that normal?
Thank you.

My name is I am making first steps as a PM for this project.
I had uploaded a Word file with small samples of two new translators.
Would you please take a look and let me know if they are on the right track?
Thank you in advance

in my opinion both translations are really good, have good accuracy and style. 8.5 to 9
Thank you and looking forward to working with you

Hi :
Just wanted to say “Hi”. I had no problem while testing Transit, just can’t load the French dictionary though but
I understand that the files may not be ready yet?
Anyway, I am taking a few days off but will be back on Tuesday morning, ready to get started if the project is!
Cheers, Fabienne

Thank you for such a fast response. I’m very glad translations are good. Would you like to pass some comments to the translators?
Looking forward working with you as well

Don’t worry, once files are ready we will make sure that everything will get installed properly.

I’m having an issue with Transit: when I press “ALT+ENTER” or “ALT+INS”, the software stops working, everything freezes.
I’ve tried to re-install it, I think I’ve checked everything, but I don’t know what happens… Have you ever heard about this issue? It’s pretty embarrassing…

Please find the translation of the 15h file here attached. Please confirm reception.
Could you please passe the following comments to your proofreader:
Still not translating the Names (red or not), Exemples of not translated Names:
bellgrass
Hardwing Bees
etc.
I think that it should be “princess” in segment 526, instead of “prince”, so my translation is reflecting this. Please check.
“Danon said he had payed back Bilu when she was revived” has been translated by another translator like “give the money back”, but I’m pretty sure there isn’t any money involved. To be checked.
I have also corrected a few spelling mistakes from other translators, but I don’t know though how this would work with the translation memory.
I’ve used a few +, but not that many.

Now I understand what you mean.
I’ll check with the lead translator, if you should change the quotes and “mystic” of to leave it to proofreader.

Europeans use a space before, but not Americans… You’ll have to tell me which standard you prefer. I would guess it’s the European one.

I checked about the time-lines. There is no “dead end”, so generally you work on your own schedule. Of course, in reasonable frames
When you finish, you will be assigned more work.
As you didn‚´t receive my first message, I have to say HELLO again! I‚´m a new translator for German.
All hyphens (typed or pasted by a hotkey) change to a tag when I do ALT+INS. When I go to View Display/Hide Attributes and activate “display full tag”, they appear as hyphens, too. I hope that is ok.
Only problem left is when I got an english term like “ring-shaped” displayed in my target window in Transit, the hyphen within is a tag. In the german translation I don‚´t need a hyphen and I cannot delete it. What can I do?
There are some other issues I like to know:
What is the exact deadline for returning the file (5000+ words) to ?
Is anybody using an Instant Messenger like Skype, MSN or ICQ among the translators?
told me to send you “sample of several segments” of source/target text. Should I just paste them here and how many segments should I send you and when?
thank you in advance

“I’m a new PM So it can take me a bit longer to find solutions sometimes, but i will try my best.”
sorry if I let you go ballistic with this I‚´m new, too.
I just insertet the second hyphen in the target text window
“display full tag” activated: Ultra-Himmels-Ring (that looks good but the second hyphen is in BLUE which means it is a tag and cannot be changed in any way after insertion)
“display short tags” activated: UltraHimmelsRing (this “” means it has changed to a tag automatically)
“hide tags” activated: UltraHimmelsRing (no tags/hyphens displayed)
There must be an automatic conversion from normally typed hyphens into tags, because the first hyphen in this sample was there from the beginning (due to the program code, I guess).
So maybe this is ok, when this hyphen is at the correct place, even when it changed into a tag? I just wanted to know, if this is a problem at all.
Other way round problem:
“display full tag” activated: ring-furmiges (hyphen is in BLUE)
“display short tags” activated: ringfurmiges (now obviously a tag)
“hide tags” activated: ringfurmiges (no tag displayed but still there)
I have to type “ringfurmiges” without any hyphen but the english term was “ring-shaped”. I couldn‚´t get rid of the hyphen in my target text.
Maybe there‚´s no problem at all but once I start translating I want to be sure that there won‚´t be technical problems which make a mess of my work and time.
I uploaded a sample for you to this site (sample_for_ _10001_08_DEU_w.TXF). I haven‚´t re-re-read it but this is to show you about the hyphens.
I have to tell that the terms from the dictionary aren‚´t fully consistent, so I chose the most common term.
Please let me know if there are any problems.

I found a solution. It was mentioned in here in the guidelines. I just insert a “dummy” instead of a hyphen. Sorry, if I‚´ve bothered you.
To delete a hyphen still remains aproblem.
—————————-
Oh, I thought you tried it! That’s why I asked in the first message if you’ve read the instructions. Yes, please, insert .hhh. instead of the hyphens, and as to how to delete the existing ones, I will check. May be for those you created you could do like this – “display full tag” -deactivate tag protection and delete the hyphen. Then reactivate tag protection. but only for those which got created. I’ll check what can be done with the ones which were blue before you got there (in the English source).
By the way, I couldn’t open your file in Transit. I don’t know is it my own technological disability or the file was corrupted. Will you make a sample of like 100 words for the lead translator?

to make sure you get the 100 words, I copied them out of Transit.
The hyphen at “UltraHimmels.hhh.Ring” is in Transit displayed with a tag between “Ultra” and “Himmels” (UltraHimmels.hhh.Ring) and is indeed a hyphen. Same goes for “KartenFragment” (KartenFragment).

First – sample received. It might take a few days, but you keep working.
There are two options as to these hyphens. First – keep inserting the .hhh. with a macro, it is fast and safe.
Second, we are not sure that disabling tag protection for the sake of removing a hyphen is safe. So if you want, you can lease as it is, just mark it in the text somehow and add a comentary when delivering.

I’ve seen the English word “Mystic” kept as it is in the French translation when working on file 17m, however it is not French. Should this be corrected or has it been already thought trough and decided this was the way forward?

No, I did not receive any messages from you, so I guess it didn’t get posted.
Let me see if I understand correctly – you typed a hyphen as part of your translation and when you ALT INS the segment it changed to Tag? Or was there a hyphen before that you don’t need? And if this is true, then was this hyphen appearing as a tag, or it got converted when you tried to delete it?
There had been a section on hyphens in the new instructions. Did you read it? It’s right here: http://001yourtranslationservice.com/translations/projects/2010/10001/video-game-translation_new-instructions.html
Please let me know.
Hello again
I‚´m not sure if you have received my first message. Due to my Firefox browser settings it might haven‚´t been sent.
As I translated the first segments, I inserted a hyphen which automatically changed into a TAG. So I tried to re-insert that hyphen which just resulted in a doubled hyphen. I really read the instructions carefully but now I cannot delete the second hyphen. Now I know that a tag could also mean a hyphen as I saw when I changed the view option in Transit.
Sometimes there is a hyphen in English when in German there there is no need for it.
How can I delete a hyphen that has changed to a tag?
Thank you in advance

Yes, is m name.
Are you proofreading file 17m or translating it?
I checked the dictionary I have, and in all terms with “Mystic” it had been translated as “mystique”, for example “Mystic Armor” is “Armure mystique”. Is it same in your dictionary? Is it similar to the case we are speaking about? Generally I don’t see a reason why it wouldn’t be translated.

Thanks for your speedy response. I am translating the file 17m and came across “Titre Mystic des Sept Nuits”. So I don’t know if this was useful, too detailed, not detailed enough, only stupid comments not to be considered, etc. Have you visibility on those? As I spend quite a bit of time to write those, I would better stop if this is not used.
And as I already said to and, I am more than willing to improve the way I translate if there is anything I should do differently, but without feedback…

I am here to help you. So write me as often as you need, may-be accumulate 2-3 subjects in one message, but if something is urgent, just press the button and I will try to check it for you. It’s nice when in the title you state the main issue.
I prefer when the problems are explained explicitly, like for a total dummy for two reasons – I don’t speak French, so you will need to explain well the issue, maybe with examples, and second – because it’s my first week in the project. So the more explicit your are, the better is chance that I will understand what’s the problem from the first message.

So welcome to this project!!! I hope that this first week has been good!
Here below is a copy of what I sent first to , then to (after asked me to do so). I hope it will be useful. If not, please advise. I didn’t copy the comments on files 5, as I don’t think it would be very beneficial to dig too much in history…

Please find here below all my comments on the files I have previously sent to (15 j. k. l. m. g. h.). Hope this helps and have a good reading.
Please don’t hesitate to come back to me would you have any questions or comments.

The following have not been translated, as I think they are part of the Names translations (only examples which I found more relevant to put here):
Array of the Six Periods
Sword Regenesis
Regenesis Sword
Sunstream City
Fuzzy matches translations I’m not very happy with:
Array = Jet ; sometimes very strange, I would probably prefer “rayonnement” instead
I would not have translated Segment the way it has been translated, as I think he wants Anan to go with him, and not to give him lands… To be checked in context.
Feedback welcome. I’m going to 15k now…

Holyguard ritual or Holy Guard ritual (two spellings used!)
essence of Knowu
Devine Tales
Five Sacred Orders
Five Tomes
Burning Liquor
I think that “Chief Balo” is missing in segment
I saw both battle of Jadeon Mountain and Mount Jadeon, so the french translation is also different. I would have thought it would be the same name…
I’ve always used .hhh. instead of the hyphen
I’ve used a few + .
Feedback welcome. I’m going to 15l now…

I’ve introduced quite a number of terms into the dictionary, I hope that I didn’t mess too much around!
I did not translate all the “Names Coupon” from Segment onwards
I believe that “thank” is missing in segment : I didn’t get a chance to properly her.
I’ve always used .hhh. instead of the hyphen
I’ve used a few + .
Feedback welcome. I’m going to 15m now…

Could you please passe the following comments to your proofreader:
Est-ce la Cloche de Bilu des Lupin ? . I think it should be Est-ce la Cloche de Lupin de Bilu ? I don’t want to change another translator’s work if I’m not absolutely sure.
I have also corrected a few spelling mistakes from other translators, but I don’t know though how this would work with the translation memory.
Exemples of not translated Names:
Five Sacred Orders
five tomes
Truth of Orders
Incense Valley
etc.
I’ve used a few +, but not that much.
