1) 2 – is a new translator.
2)Isabell. Check 076 file. If this file is good again, add your comments to “bad” files, I’ll ask her to revise translation. Please, do it first.

Other files must be about good.

I will be done with my current file at around 15:00 – 15:30. Could you send me a new one?

Hi

thanks for the new file and the attached feedback. The translation will be ready by Monday evening.

Dennis” confirmed ”
OK I will take it into consideration but I think you must reconsider s.th. Buffalo Wings as corrected by your collegue in German is a modern dish / modern term. Kentucky Fried Chicken did not exist in that time…

I have got Annette’s comment to your comments:

If you want to comment it in any way – do it, I’ll send her your answer. If it is not important- just ignore.

Now did the assignment
01_alpha_20-23_for_spotting_DEU.PXF

[01_alpha_20-21 Holger] New translator, feedback for him attached (included comments for 061).

020: 30 mins, pretty good, but left many segments marked untranslated. These were actually translated, I went through them and set them as translated. Will include comment to translator to always claim his segments…

021: 30 mins: also good overall. Most untranslated were actually translated, but file also contains chinese characters.

[01_alpha_022_023_Annette]: needs better proofread, even if much of it is ok. Suggest sending back to Annette / see attached comments for her. The same issues as with the file I proofread earlier — if she can’t do better, I can’t recommend having her on the project.

File 022: 20 mins
File 023: 10 mins so far.

Will now move on to 075ff and send you my comments on ‘s file first of all.

Comment on Annette’s answer:

I still don’t understand what “Büffelflügel” is supposed to mean, though. I see your point about KFC — but the game’s setting isn’t exactly historical and they use other colloquial terms as well, so I assume that our modern Buffalo Wings are really what they had in mind.

note: isn’t really important, anyways.

I’ll pass your comment to the proofreader, but meanwhile I pass you his new comments. They are concerned 22-23 files. I ask you to reproofread your work yourself, make corrections and submit files again.

And one more comments is up:

Hi

You didn’t give a link above and I can’T seem to find 075 ff in the proofreading folder… can you help with that?

———————-

Oops, sorry.

🙂

Holger.

We have got a feedback from proofreader about your 20-21 and 61 files. I attach it. Please, read his comments and take them to account for future.

———————-

Thank you for your reply, as I my recent translation (01_part_108 (2,161))will have been finished on late Saturday yet, I may ask you to assign the next one please.

———————-

Thanks for the link.

Something else I almost forgot:

Holger, in 020-021, maybe also on 061, used German “Marketender” for “Battlefield Credit Exchanger”. Now it is in the newest Glossary as “Schlachtfeld-Kredit-Tauscher”. Is it possible that you update his files with the new term? You can just search for “Marketender” and replace with “Schlachtfeld-Kredit-Tauscher”. There shouldn’t be any declination issues. I just realized this after uploading the file, so maybe it’s possible that you fix it and I don’t have to go back and resubmit the file again?

Next file for you:

Don’t forget to add to your project the newest glossary:

The zeta reps are uploaded. You can send me the next file, though I will not do much with it during the weekend.

———————-

Valeria’s away for a few hours.

I’ll check 20-21 and 61.

I’ll also need a reps file proofread. I’ll check it first for any obvious errors and upload it in about 30 minutes.

———————-

Isabell 01_part_076: is good, but 2000+ words inside the 90%+ fuzzy range, so it was also very easy for her.

From my previous notes, I assembled feedback to be sent back with the earlier files (030-031).

Time for 076: 15 minutes
Total time for 030: 45 minutes (includes earlier checking and the notes I am now attaching — will you put it with the file in accounting_web, or should this be reported as “extra”?)

That’s 3 short files adding up to 2392 words.
1,320
68
1,004

which should take you a day to finish. We’re running out of files right now, but by Monday we should have another batch or even two ready.

We’re almost done with the project. By Friday we should be done with 95% of the translation work.

Hoo boy, zeta reps file is going to be a pain in the ass. Please proofread it.

http://translationstop.com/files/Proofreading/German/01_zeta_reps_DEU_for_proofreading.PXF

There’s the usual {h and word order issue. That one can’t be helped and will have to be resolved in the vetting stage.

There’s a number of segments where the English doesn’t make sense. Ulrich tries his but I don’t know if it’s enough. Here’s the relevant parts of the source text in Excel.

http://translationstop.com/files/Proofreading/German/context_for_zeta_reps.rar

From reading the source text, I think the game is trying to convey the idea that although the outcome is uncertain, they must try something, because the alternative is doom. Possibly related is the phrase “a throw of the dice” or “a roll of the dice”, although the situation isn’t quite the same..

Well, best of luck. You may want to confer with  via the Google Docs spreadsheet.

https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AmlfEgfxF8r3dEFHVmcxVE5lYTBaWVZfYTA3WnpmWlE&authkey=CLm0jrUG&hl=en#gid=0

It’s supposed for glossary, but heck, the CS is slightly borked and it maybe useful to get everyone’s opinion.

did 01_part_080 next, and will do the rest of this batch later (I guess the reps file has priority?).

[ 2 01_part_080]: New translator, 50 mins:
Seems to be a good translator. File was complicated with chopped up sentences — no problems there — but also highly repetitive, so maybe it is a good idea to give his next file a closer look as well. Welcome and feedback for translator attached, but again, not very much to say because file is a bit repetitive and boring.

———————-

Yeah, reps file has priority.

I checked Holger’s 20-21 for the Battlefield Credit Exchanger and found nothing. There’s Credit Marketplace, but the glossary wasn’t changed there (Kredit-Markplatz).

61 has that though. Actually, 59-62 have Battlefield Credit Exchanger. We haven’t proofread/spotchecked 59-60 yet though.
I’ll get that changed in 61-62.

———————-

.

if zeta is such a pain as you say, I won’t be able to finish it tonight. I also have some personal things over the weekend but I’ll try to get as much of zeta and the remaining proofreading done tomorrow (half of 75-80 is already done).

———————-

By the way, if you haven’t done so already, make sure you discard the old glossary and download the new glossary. You should have received a mass-email from Karel about that.

You don’t have to go back and make sure the section you’ve done are updated, but the parts you haven’t done yet should use the new glossary.

PS: Of course, if you can deliver the file before Thursday, that’ll be great. It’ll allow us more time to proofread it.
