French Project Segment Text English

And if you have more files-you can assing them to me, I am available to work more today.
” yes, its a big mess, but the next project should be MUCH better organised and I’d like to invite you to continue with us! For now we are just trying to wrap up the last straggler files and finish the project. Many pieces of the puzzle. :0)

“Ok I’m working on it, in fact there are quite a lot of mistakes, mostly misunderstandings, and there are some weird things in the English source as well (for example an abbreviated word which doesn’t make any sense, I don’t know how we could translate it).
I’ll upload the file as soon as I’ve finished correcting it.

———————-

Thanks
Receipt confirmed.
I have a question. I have a situation like this “On dirait qu’il y a beaucoup de jeunes prometteurs ces temps-ci–“.
So, I’ve deleted two hyphens that were before the period, but what about first one? Is it odd or not?

” Thanks.

“, the first one is normal, the last two to delete. First one is not odd at all.

———————-

I’m checking on more files for you.

” Concerning abbreviations, did you check the project’s website for the link to the Excel file of all English abbreviations originally sent by the customer? You should find it easily through the Table of Contents.

($line) and (ligne$) is the same, in French, $ mark wust be at the beginning of the word?

———————-

And if you have more files-you can assing them to me, I am available to work more today.

———————-

Yes I found the meaning of the abbreviation
As many segments are misunderstood, I have to rewrite entirely a lot of them, so it should take at least 2 hours.

———————-

Please address the instructions which are clearly saying that these things should not be translated!
Please replace all ligne$ with $line, and make sure that other things like this are not translated either.

———————-

There’s the trick that Sebastian let on about using Segment Filters.

Go to View -> Segment Filter -> Segment Attribute Filter.

Then check the box next to Edited by

and select User.

This tells Transit to show only User’s and maybe Fuzzy Match (User). This hides all the Pretranslated stuff so you don’t have the reproof them over and over again. (The pretranslated stuff for section 15 have been proofed already.)

———————-

It’s clear, thanks.

———————-

Please receive re-vetted French 13a,k,n

Alexandre, as I mentioned via the CS system, we’d rather you do Repetitions 9 rather than 17uv. In fact, the 08 files can wait too.

When you are finished with Repetition 08, can you upload 8k too? I seem to miss it.

If you’re already partially on, say, 8q or some other file, can you let me know which file?

Thanks.

———————-

What If there’s double space in English, but no in French. There’s nothing about this situation in manual.

———————-

Please receive re-vetted French 18p,t.

Also, I guess I know how did I manage to messed up with cells.

I have a shortcut CTRL+D (I dont know if you have the same in Excel), it is near “F”. It works something like auto-filter. You press it and all the list of the text below is showed. I think I scroll by mistake and chose wrong variant.
Empty line-stupid mistake with erasing from the search box.
Of course it is not an accuse, I should have been more careful. And I wont be using copy-past thing if you beleive they are not safe.
So. please let me know if you need me additionally to go trough the files and to re-check them?

M

———————-

Do you mean double space between sentences? Not important. Important is space or no space between text and commands and various strings: $line, &name& ^fffff etc.

Don’t forget that in French there should be space between text and :;!?
No need to add space before/after “x”(quotation marks).

———————-

When do you need this file? I’m barely reaching the half of it, so I still have a lot of work…

———————-

Well It’s all clear. So I guess I can send vetted file right now.
And here’s issues table.

———————-

Better not to use. Monday is dead end, and I guess you will be happy to know Karel already has files for the next project.

The closer we get to Monday, the more I have to do and less time I have to check quality of other’s work. Today I checked the files, so no need to do it again. But no more copy-pastes, and I was also struggling to remove this scroller you forgot to delete form a few files. Let’s finish this one without these issues.

Please revet these French files:
JD_100201_Localize_13l
JD_100201_Localize_13t

JD_100201_Localize_10a
JD_100201_Localize_10b

Please confirm.

———————-

Please make these German two:
JD_100201_Localize_5d
JD_100201_Localize_4b

If there are many + marks, please let me know at once.

I am checking now your last files.

Please confirm.

———————-

I have checked files for +. There are no + marks at all.

Sorry, sometimes I send you the same message twice somehow…I don’t do it intentionally, so please don’t pay attention.

———————-

ok, Confirmed.
Thank you for understanding and good news about the new project.

Ideally I’d like it in about 6 hours. Try to shoot for that.

We probably have 23 hours, but I really don’t want to do that, since if something goes wrong, we will have absolutely no time to do anything.

I am not saying we don’t trust you, but let’s say the server went down for 8 hours. If you get it done within 6 hours we have time to wait until the hosting service’s staff gets around to fixing it. If you wait until 23 hours and then the server went down? We’re screwed.

By the way, the server did went down last week for about that long. Didn’t get back up until about 8 a.m. EST when tech support finally gets to work. As most of us are in Europe, we lost a lot of man-hours there.

———————-

You’ll have it in about 2 hours, don’t worry.

———————-

Files are vetted and uploaded. Waiting for new tasks.

S

———————-

Please find attached 3 files for spelling.
Same like before –
1. Please spellcheck in Excel, selecting only the French column befor lunching spellchecking to speed it up (with english column it takes more time)
2. Please resolve issues in file 18p and delete all comments, so that the outcome would be a clean file.

Please confirm receipt!

———————-

I’m currently working for on a translation file, but I’ll start working on these 3 files as soon as possible (tomorrow).

———————-

Please receive re-vetted files French 13l,t.
there is line 4 in the 13t,which also contain the situation with the different text(source and target) – it is not me :), I have checked it.
It was the same before even vetting.

M

———————-

I have some doubts as to using cut forms of words in the target text. For ex. when “Zwillings-Sichel der Tapferkeit” is replaced with “Zwi.-Sich.d.Tapf.”, is it Ok?

———————-

S

Few GERMAN files:

JD_100201_Localize_9e
JD_100201_Localize_9t
JD_100201_Localize_9u

I need all these files vetted today.
Please confirm!

———————-

I have completed vetting.
” ”
I just completed and uploaded 18b.
It was a quite difficult and time-consuming one but we won the game after all.
Remember I took it from segment 215 to the end (segment 1120).
Since the first translator’s file was giving me problems, I had to GO BACK TO THE SERVER TO FETCH THE ORIGINAL 18B, and I received it as a new project and I WENT STRAIGHT TO SEGMENT 215.
I guess the proofreader needs that information as well so that he wouldn’t conclude that the file has not been translated at all (I intentionally left segments 1-214 as UNTRANSLATED), and that both portions can be combined later on…
I’m really tired.
See you soon.
