We have a deadline in the middle of July.
Tuesday-Wednsday is Ok. What it concerned my constant questions like”how you procced”-don’r perceive it as hurrying you up. I just keep in mind your conversation with related to summ you can do on this project, that’s why I’m trying to provide you enough work in advance not to keep you waiting or getting you in the situation when you are out of files and we can’t give you anything else at the moment. So do what and as much as you can do. Noone is pushing you.

Sophie

Really sorry you won’t be available!
Let me know when you have time for us please.

Hi

finished 01_delta_reps, and uploading it with comments. There were some technical-looking things that I commented on, so maybe you can comment on that before it goes into proofreading.

Ready for proofreading ‘s file when it’s ready. I could also start translating a new file in the meantime – forgot to request one.

Sebastian

Correction: word count of 01_delta_reps has been adjusted to 4994 words. Earlier count was inaccurate.

Back to the matter at hand.  informed me that his file won’t be ready until tomorrow noon. Oh well.

Can you please do some proofread ‘s file on Saturday when he’s done?

Hi

Saturday afternoon I will only have time until approx. 3 p.m., so I may not make it with ‘s file depending on when it’s ready, but I can do it on Sunday. I guess it shouldn’t take so long, anyway.

So I’ll take on the new file in the mean time. Thanks!

———————-

I’m grateful to you for your thoughtfulness. You really make me feel welcome in your team 😀

I will notify you again when I’m halfway through the big file and tell you how much I think I can manage in the next few days to help you decide which file to assign me next.

———————-

I just uploaded beta_01_53.

I would be free to take on the next file.

———————-

I uploaded the revised files.

———————-

Thanks! Should be done by Tuesday.
Christian

Tsk, you’re too fast for me.

Sorry , but we’re temporarily out of stuff to translate. Key files weren’t turned in on time. 🙁

Best guess for when we will get the next batch is Sunday afternoon. So, umm, have a nice weekend?
(Not us. We’re gonna be busy checking your files and everyone else’s this weekend. Boohoohoo.)

” Quick note, I sent the wrong word count to you. Word count for delta_reps is 4775. ‘s gamma_reps is 4994. Now if you’ll excuse me I need to tell  about the mix-up.

“Haha, alright, no problem!

Hope you have a good weekend anyway!

———————-

Word count for 01_gamma_reps was adjusted to 4994 words. Sorry. We tried a new method that’s automated, but examination shows that codes and Chinese characters messes the word count, so we’re back to the old method.

Next, when you’re done with gamma_reps, I’ll have Sebastian proofread it. Conversely, please proofread Sebastian’s file.

http://translationstop.com/files/Proofreading/German/01_delta_reps_DEU_tobe_proofed.PXF

His note file explains in detail a syntax issue with the delta_reps.
http://translationstop.com/files/Proofreading/German/01_delta_reps_DEU_comments_glossary_seb.doc

Just to clarify, we need a full proofread. If you can get it done during the weekend, great. If you have other things to do, please get it done late Monday or early Tuesday?

How busy are you for next week anyway?

” Just a reminder, we still haven’t received file 308 that was assigned back on the 27th.

“Forwarded your note for delta_reps to  already.

Additional assignment:

re-spotcheck 257-258.
http://translationstop.com/files/Proofreading/German/05_257-258_DEU_for_respotting.PXF

If there’s no improvement, let us know right away.

spotcheck 263.
http://translationstop.com/files/Proofreading/German/05_263_DEU_for_spotting.PXF

263 may need a lot more time than the usual super-fast spotcheck, although hopefully no longer than 60-90 mins. See translator’s note:
http://translationstop.com/files/Proofreading/German/Notes_for_05_263_DEU_GlossaryRemarks.rtf

Use your own judgment.

” Steffen, quick question. Is 283 your first file assignment with us?

“Marcus, it looks like you uploaded file 38 twice. There are minor differences between the two. Which one should I use?

We have
1277985270-10002_1_alpha_038_Marcus_German_Translated.TXF
321608 2010/07/01

10002_1_alpha_038_Marcus_German_Translated.TXF
321599 2010/07/01

———————-

Thank you for the reminder. There is still some work done alterations because of the newly updated glossary.

Will have this done by Sunday evening.

Kalle

———————-

I just noticed that you sent in an alpha 01-02_part_001 german Annette translation.TXF

err, I haven’t looked at the file but I am really hoping that you sent in 01_alpha_part_02. If you sent in 01, you just wasted a lot of time and effort.

” Checked, and looks like you sent the correct file. Phew. The part_001 scared me for a bit. I’ll rename it later to avoid confusion.

sorry for the late reply.
Please use this file:

Jan.

Haven’t heard from you for a long time. Let me know how you proceed with your current assignment?

———————-

Martin!

Let me know the state of your file, please.

———————-

Hi

I first did 05_263, which I just uploaded to PR. Here’s my comments:

Jan seems to be another very high quality Translator, but with the note I proofread a bit more carefully just to make sure (50 mins total). Since there were a few little issues that can be improved in the future, I took some notes which I will attach below (and which you may want to read as a report).

———————-

Hi

I’m a bit behind, but I will be able to catch up and get some additional stuff done next week.

Cheers
Jan

Fine, Jan.I don’t hurry you up.

Your file 263 was proofread by Herewith I attach his comments and advices for you.

257 and 258 respotted, 15 minutes each, and uploaded the changes I made. Two comments:

1. They are improved, but still not perfect. I guess they can be accepted if we accept that the quality isn’t flawless – I have seen other files accepted that weren’t as good in my opinion, either – but I still think we should ask the translator to be more careful with proofreading his own work, especially with punctuation, and double-check in the future to make sure he proofreads his own work.

2. Considering {hBrackets: often, sentences have to continue after the words in the brackets, but the segments end there, before the bracket is closed (Refer, for example, to segment 560 in file 257). In this file, the sentences are often continued by the translator before the bracket is closed, so there will be more text in the brackets than in the original. In most cases it would be possible to put the words that come after the bracketed word in one of the next segments, where the sentence is continued, which is better in my opinion – but not always possible.

I don’t know how crucial this is and whether it needs to be fixed, I guess the game may work even if there is text in the brackets which need not go there, so you have to decide or ask the client if that should be fixed. Nevertheless, in the future we should try to watch out for the brackets and try to make sure they are closed before the sentence continues.

Gerald.

We have new files delayed again. We expect to get them tomorrow. As soon as we have them-you’ll get an assignment.

Sorry!

———————-

I am almost done with this file, so could you send me more?

———————-

We have a delay with new files. We expect to receive them tomorrow. Once we get them – you’ll be assigned a new task. So don’t hurry with your current file and take your time to proofread it properly.
