seems that miracles can happen and I've found a translator for the Slovenian part. Copying her sample translation below. Looks good enough for me to proofread. I assume the Slovakian translator will be able to complete her smaller part now earlier, and I will let you know once I find out.

"A returning patient, discharged from our ward on 22.2.2006., letter of discharge is attached. She has been on a regular therapy with Apilepsin 3 x 10 drops.

Today, 3.3.2006, at 7 am she went into convulsions, lost her consciousness, turned her eyes upwards and had slight spasms in all extremities. At home she was given a 5 mg rectiole of Stesolid. The parents took the child to the Rakican hospital. At 10:30 she experienced another seizure in the car. Her parents gave her another 5 mg rectiole of Stesolid, the seizure stopped and the girl fell asleep. At 12:05 the girl had another siezure in the waiting room of our reception block."

Hi - that's no bother - don't think I haven't overlooked things myself. Can you tell me know by Monday 12.00 how it looks and which pages are in which languages so I can get it sorted if you can't arrange it? At least it will help with the turnarounds if 2 people are doing it :-)

one translator just mentioned that HALF the document is Slovenian. I asked the Slovakian translator I am using whether she can handle Slovenian as well, and just approached my Slovenian translators. Unfortunately, I do not have very many of them, so I thought I'd give you a heads up - perhaps you have some good contacts. I scanned through the document quickly but I didn't think of scanning all of it.

Yes, I have been translating medical documents for a number of years. My rates are $0.15/word for translating and $0.05 for interpreting - or equivalent in CZK deposited to my Czech Republic bank account. There might be an extra charge for pdf documents. It's difficult to give you an exact rate before I see a sample.

I think it is about 10 pages and the customer sent me a better pdf scan if you would like that. Please try to define a delivery date by the end of this weekend so that I can inform the customer. I also still need to proofread it.

Attached is a sample translation, I've just randomly picked a part, I think it was on page 8. Otherwise Slovene is page 5-10 included.

can you send me a small 100 word translation excerpt of the Slovenian part? You are the first to respond so I can give it to you if the quality is good enough (I will proofread the English afterwards). I can give you the goahead later today or early tomorrow morning. Please tell me exactly which parts are Slovenian so that I can confirm with the other translator which parts she should not translate.

I confirm that part of the document is in Slovenian, there are only 4 pages in Slovak (page 1 -4). I can translate those by Thursday (I need to reserve sme time for potential consultation with a doctor, if necessary).

I haven't heard from you concerning the Slovenian part and managed to find someone. Because you did not respond I had to assume you cannot translate from Slovenian so I farmed that part to someone else. It is supposed to be the last 5 pages out of ten. You may start from the beginning of the document and I will try to confirm soon exactly which parts she is taking. It would be good if you could take a look at it so that we can all clarify who is taking what part. Considering you have a smaller portion now, by when do you think you could finish it?

My part is from page 5 included (starting with the title ODPUSTNO PISMO) till the end i.e. to page 10 included. I will deliver the translation latest by Tuesday noon, i.e. 12:00 GMT.

okay, please go ahead with the translation, inform me about when GMT time you will be able to deliver, and confirm exactly which parts you will be taking so that there is no confusion with the other translator.

I'm sorry, it was my fault, I had selected the wrong folder.

the files should still be there but you are correct that they have been farmed out already. Why could you not download them? You have to choose the folder (Temp) and then press Go to see them.

I was unable to download any of the files from the site. Does that mean they have already been assigned?

Hi, today was a special day :), my first day in work in Czech after three months in US. Usually I am on mail throughout the day and I can translate all the time (of course depends on my job, how much work I have that day). How much time is there for a translation? I've checked the medical file - really not a simple thing with a lot of special terms, which have to be found in dictionaries. So, possible to do it, but taking a lot of time.

you can look at download.kenax.cz folder Temp but I've already farmed it out. How often do you check your email and when are you usually available for translations?

Attached is the translation of the Slovene part. Btw, the ID no of the same patient is different in the two documents. It makes no difference to me, just mentioning it, as it seems a bit strange.
