at once I want to ask you to check a sample of translation from another new translator. It is not completed translation. So make a quality control of what he has done and also compose a list of comments and advices so that he took them into account before he uploads it.

1)Please, upload your first file (the same you sent me in OT) to FS according to instructions of guidelines.
2) What second file are you finishing up? I see only one file you were supposed to translate-292, the one you have sent me.

Hi
Thanks!
I just need to make sure… the filename on FS is actually “01_alpha_15-16_DEU.pxf”, right? I downloaded it and since it includes two language pairs (01_part_015 and 01_part_016) I’m assuming it’s the correct file.

Thank you for your answers.
Please, let me know how many words you can get translated by Friday. We do not have low priority files so if I assign you one I need to be sure I’ll get it back translated in terms.
If you feel that you are overtasked now, let us wait till week-end.
———————-
I could manage up to 2000 words until Friday – my other project is rather flexible in such a way that the first actual deadline isn’t until the end of July, but I’ll just have to keep an average of about 8000 words per week to meet that deadline.
I’d like to get into using Transit while my memory of reading the instructions is still fresh, so I wouldn’t mind starting on a file now and shuffle the other project to the weekend instead. But it also works the other way around, so if you don’t have a fitting file for me now, I’ll wait until Friday.
Kind Annika

I have for you 2 more files to check. These are files of that new translator whose file you checked yesterday. I sent him your comments and he corrected those mistakes. But there are still untranslated words.
When you complete files, please, upload to Proofread FS.

In general, a reps file always get priority, be it translating or proofreading.
Next after that is glossary.
After those the rest is pretty much about the same importance, with maybe assessing new people getting a slight edge.
———————-
Please, stop translating it. This file is already translated by another translator. There could be all files of the whole project in the file you downloaded. But never translate anything until you get an instruction like you received from
, which says the name of the file and words counting(like this 05_part_292 1,115).

Marcus, you sent us multiple versions of the glossary, including one that I’m sure belongs to Jade Dynasty. This makes a file that should be about 30-40k to become 1.2 MB.
You may want to deselect those from the current project. To do so go to Projects -> Settings -> Termstar Dictionaries.
Pick the older dictionaries and hit deselect. Repeat until only the current ones are left. Hit Apply and Done. Then save.
———————-
I downloaded the latest glossary file (Glossary_DEU_21Jun.PXF) but adding it to the project doesn’t seem to work.
When I go to Project->Settings->TermStar Dictionaries and click on Add, there’s nothing I can do at all.
Any ideas?
Martin

Lee, with great regret I have to cancel your file assignment for 01_alpha_01-02_DEU.PXF.
Your translation may be alright linguistically, I don’t know. I will have to ask a senior translator, but the data structure is all messed up. You added spaces and removed spaces unnecessarily. You split a segment into two several times, causing mismatches. In one case a game formatting code was turned into capital letters, moved out of order, and then the you tried to fix it by creating a new segment. You did not follow the glossary terms and instead used your own terms.
Game text needs very exact formatting. It’s not enough that you translated something correctly. It needs to be in the very same format as the original and translated the same throughout the game.
It already took me over an hour just to fix the segment mismatch and game code mismatch. I have no idea how much time the proofreader will need to get all the terms matching the glossary.
So please wait until a senior translator has looked at your file. In the meanwhile, we’ll reassign 01-02 to someone else.
ADDITIONAL INFO: I highly recommend turning on full segment markers and Full tag display.
If you messed up a game formatting code and needs to redo it, you can either go to Edit -> Segment Status and choose Not-Translated. Transit will then ask you if you want to copy the original text. Say yes, and you can redo that segment.
If you accidentally pressed enter and caused an extra segment, you can right-click on the segment and choose “Join Segment With Next” and that’ll put the segment back together again.
If you need to edit/delete a tag, turn on full tags display. You can then choose deactivate tag protection, which will allow you to delete or edit the tag in question.
