I will try to get
K. Catherine is not replying so far.
There are some abbreviation (more then 31 char.) in files 2b and 1d. In 1b is just one:
Rec. bandeau de croyance(NV105♂) 1b, line 1259, 1307
But in file 1d there are about 20 terms which are not abbreviated enough.
Rec. Coiffe de sag. anci.(NV75♀) 1d, line 55
Rec. Plastr. lien de sang(NV75♀) 1d, 241,242
Rec. Soutane sagesse anc.(NV75♀)
1d, 250,251
Rec. Chauss. danse nuages(NV75♂)
1d, 657,8
Rec. Armure fin de flamme(NV90♀)
1d, 735,6
Rec. Heaume oiseau de feu(NV75♂) 1d, 1273,4
Rec. Bottes poème fantôme(NV90♀)
Rec. Heaume poème fantôme(NV90♀)
1295-8
Rec. Chauss. sang sauvage(NV75♂)
1340
And more… Can you give us a tip how to abbreviate them or it has to be done by translator?

Thank you for reminding me.
I fixed the files and uploaded them.

I´ll try to get it done by tomorrow late afternoon.
And thank you for offering the lead translator position but sorry, at the moment I´m too busy to take that over.

Some of your question requires some research.
1. If it’s easy to guess, translate it.
2. Leave them untranslated and save yourself some work.
3. This is the difficult part. Let me quote the guideline.
If you see that a tag is hiding {hName[#]h}, it is a code for Auto-routing. Auto-routing is a game function that can be activated by clicking on special auto-route-enabled text, which is usually a location in the game or a name of some NPC. No space is assumed in the code, so use spaces after and before the text which surrounds it: “text {hName[#]h} text.”
As long as there is a clear opening and closing bracket ({h and h}), you can change the word order as long as those code brackets enclose the right word. However, if you have no idea where the closing code bracket is, don’t change the word order in the reps file. Change it in the actual regular files instead.

Following my CS message – how to adjust the formula.
1. Rename your glossary to ULTIMATE_GLOSSARY.xls
2. Download the merged reference file form here:
http://001yourtranslationservice.com/uploadedfiles_001/PR/001_JD.repair/JM%20-%20Merged_sec1-7_for_TerminologyMacro27459.zip
3. Open it, and when Excel asks you if to update values, click “update”. The glossary with the new name needs to be open. It may take several minutes for you computer to calculate the macro in such a long file. Just wait patiently.
4. If it works, you will see “correct” in the rows 1, 15, 19 etc, while where are the Chinese characters you will see N/A.
5. When you open the merged file, it may first show all formula responses as N/A. then, after long thinking it may open a message saying some links may need to be edited (Edit Links conversation box). There select “Change source” and find where is your newly renamed glossary file. Click it, and it will think few more minutes. Then the “correct” responses should appear.
6. Jean
by mistake was editing this file instead of editing the usual files. He repaired everything until line 28161. This means, that if your term is before line 28161, and the merged file says “correct”, it doesn’t mean it is correct in your file you are working on. you need to compare and see that the term in your file is same to the one in the merged file. Don’t forget, that merged file is edited to be used with macro, therefore the cells should be kept as they are in the usual file, with all brackets, gender signs etc.
7. If your file is after cell 28161, you can follow the formula response. If the terms is same like in glossary – it will show “correct”, if it differs – it will show “false”. If the term is not in the glossary – it will show N/A. You need to check that terms which are not in the glossary are translated well.
8. 31 characters limitation – please check that everything is as short as it should be with the 31 char macro.
9. Please watch for typos as you check the file, but don’t run separate spellchecking.
your files are section 5 – files 5a,b,c,d.
I am going to sleep very soon. Can you please try the merged file with the formula to see if you make it work?
———————-
Is anybody else available?
I’ve been stuck for several hours on the same file. If there are more files like that, I don’t think I’ll be able to finsish all four sections.

Jean
On which section are you? And which file?
I assigned section 6 to Carine.
K is not available. Catherine is available later tonight, she still didn’t inform me if she could operate the formula. I told her if she can operate it, she should do section 5.
———————-
Carine
How is it going? What is the progress? Will you be able to take more files, may-be to do tomorrow morning?
———————-
Did you check if the formula works? Can you take the files? (5abcd)?
Please let me know.
———————-
I managed to follow your instructions but I don’t understand yet how I am supposed to find section 5 in the merged file, it’s going to take me a little while to figure this out and ensure that I understand properly, but at least the merged file is ready to be used for reference.
Talk to you tomorrow morning, is the client’s deadline in your time, which means 6 hours ahead of me? Anyway, I’ll do my best.
———————-
It’s fine, I understand now for finding the beginning of section 5, I just didn’t realise it was following exactly the same order, so I am good to do the files tomorrow, have a good night!
———————-
Karel has gone offline, so I don’t have confirmation, but your part of 05_reps is 12,599 words worth.
Mea culpa. I got the formula applied very incorrectly.
———————-
Carine
To find 5a? Piece of cake! Your file begins on line 38626. I searched for “☆Earth Gale 2” (first line in 5a, but without the additional characters: searched just for “Earth Gale”. Then I scrolled little down to confirm it’s really corresponding to the rest of the file.
Please don’t forget that the changes need to be applied to the usual 5a, not to the 5a part in the merged file. Also remember that you need to keep the characters and numbers just as they are, only update the terminology if necessary.
The deadline is 6pm GMT. We need the files much earlier as they need to be vetted and integrated to the final delivery package. When do you think you can have it done?
Can it be tomorrow noon GMT? Can you do more files until tomorrow noon GMT? I am going to sleep really soon, so please reply ASAP.
———————-
Your part on 05_reps_DEU is worth 5847 words.
I have the formula applied incorrectly. My apologies.
Regarding your other concerns
– Had you said something about the reps file being too long when you received it, I could have split Section 5 into 2 or even 3 subsections. Since you said nothing, I had no idea you think it was too long.
– Re: word count. Karel has pointed out that both the constant and the way I applied the formula for 05 was incorrect. It has been corrected.
– I agree with you that it’s better to have a single translator working on a file. However, in this case time just doesn’t permit it.
– Once you have time again I’m sure there are more translation work waiting. Let me know when.
Alright, I’m out for the day. Bye.
PS: Are sophie and Fabien busy too or is it just you?
———————-
I haven’t finished the first file yet. Progress is slow as there seems to be a lot of ‘false’ in that file but I’m trying to be as careful as possible not to edit the merged file and keeping both files on the same level at all time. I am not sure I will be able to finish all the files by noon tomorrow but I will keep you updated with my progress anyway. The thing is it all depends on the number of ‘false’ in the file so I can’t really predict how long it’ll take.
Carine

I am working on section 2, file c. Section 1 and files 2a and 2b were pretty easy, but 2c is a major roadblock, lots of cells are different because they had to be shortened to meet the character limitation once you add sex signs and other signs, so it’s pretty tedious.
JM
———————-
, two things:
1. Karel has pointed out that I applied the formula incorrectly. I’ve recalculated and for your work on segment 1640-3500 you should get 7736 words.
2. ‘s off again for a week. Which means someone should take over the glossary work during his absence. Do you have the time? says he’s off until Monday at the very least, but possibly all the way to Wednesday.
———————-
I forgot to tell you that on the merged file I sent, I did not modify most of the “Recipe” cells because signs had been removed.
JM

Carine
but it is still probably faster then just manually checking each term, right (I’m hopeful)?
I will check mail in the morning. Please keep me updated.
———————-
Jean
Before you finish for today, please send me an update. I am finishing now, will check it tomorrow.
” Just FYI, word count formula for this file was applied incorrectly and it should 15,597 words.
”
Regarding the length issues, I did try to bring it up but probably wasn’t clear enough on it. Will be more specific next time.
Yes, Sophie as well as Fabian will not be available before Monday, I will keep you posted about all of our schedules.
Greetings and until soon

I’m off for today. I uploaded sections 2, 3 and 4 on the server. The file name is: JD – French – Sections 2 3 4 –
– Macro
Here is the hour count:
Sections 1-4 Proofreading 19,5 hours
Please let me know if everybody is working on the files they were assigned. I can still take more before the deadline. Just remember I live in the US (GM -4:00), I might be be able to work right away if you send me files in the morning, GMT time.
Let me know if you have questions or comments.

Great work, what can I say?
I know Carine is working. and she will try to deliver section 6. I don’t know anything about Catherine – she did not update me if she is working on section 5 or not.
If you can go over the 3 files from section 7 it would be great.
———————-
Please update us ASAP on your progress on section 5. Did you begin it? How much did you make and when do you think you could deliver.
Please use OT (this ticket) to reply – I will be away for some hours, and Karel will take care of it instead of me. When you reply via OT we will both receive notification.
