I have uploaded file 6b with finished abbreviations. Took me 5h50 all together.
I didn’t keep record of all the abbreviations I did, there were too many.
Do you want me to start on 6c, or part of it, or have you given the file to someone else?
Carine

Okay, back to reps file. But you’re proofreading.
First, please confirm that you’re available this weekend. Due to the length of the file and the numerous delays we’ve suffered, we want someone who can work during the weekend.
If you are, this is the file.

Latest glossary file is 15 June, which you may already have.

This reps file is done by 4 people. Thus I want you to pay attention to consistency. Already I see that Atlantis Square is translated two-ways.
Context is also important. Read a segment in relation to the segments before and after it. Meaning can be different. Also, translators may change the word order to better fit the German syntax.
There are some notes from the translators about the glossary terms. They’re supposed to go to but you may want to take a look. But it’s pretty late, so I’ll forward the links to you later, assuming that you’re available.
Warning: reps file is very long. Probably 30k words long.

I haven’t heard from you. Did you managed to send the files on time? Do you still need me on that 6c file? or do you want me to start on that file tomorrow morning?
Carine

went to bed some 2-3 hours ago.
Files were sent on time, as far as I know, barring unfinished files like 6c.
There’s no point for you staying up to work on 6c. Get some rest. I don’t know if has already assigned 6c to someone else, but I know that there’s no more work that needs to be finished tonight.
” , are you available this weekend for that proofreading job? If so, please confirm. Otherwise I’ll have to assume you’re off for the weekend and reassign it to another person.
are you available for the weekend?
Are you available for work this weekend (today and tomorrow)?

I´m available again from tomorrow morning on. Please feel free to assign any files to me, so I can start with them tomorrow.

How long do you think it will take you to proofread 05_reps?
I tried looking for other proofreaders. One that isn’t involved in the translation, but they’re all busy, looks like.
———————-
yes I’m available to translate. Just send me files.
———————-
Without my own part of it, the rest is around 18k. It´s hard to tell if I had to exchange terms due to the new glossary, but when I start tomorrow morning I´ll guess it will take till Monday afternoon or evening.
Please don´t nail me down on this time, it´s a big file 😉

It’s not translation, it’s proofreading 05_reps_DEU that you worked on. I’ve tried to locate other proofreaders who weren’t translating this file, but they’re either busy with other projects or else not answering their emails this weekend.
How long do you think it will take you to proofread a file that long?

You proofreaded the 03_part_209 file. There are still plus marks in the 244 row. Please, check it and send me an updated version.
” Since I have no confirmation, I am reassigning this to another person.
I decided to assign the proofreading job to .
“Alright, , please proofread the file.
This is the file.

Did you abbreviate 6d? Either way, I think the only file left other than that is 6c. Can you work on that?
———————-
No, it’s not abbreviated. I can take care of this and 6C if you want. Could you please give me the link for the updated macro?

Just received an email by Karel to tell you to assign me some of the files which still need work, tomorrow I am free so you can assign me one of these files if there are any left.

Hi, I opened a new ticket maybe I should not have, anyway, I am available for more work tomorrow, on the #straggler’ files that Karel mentions in his emails.
Catherine” Alexandre, how long do you think you need to work on your two files? Catherine is now available and I think I’d rather have you work on the s&r list, because the customer is ant about the full decapitalisation. I just realised, if we put together the best s&r list we can and do a half decent job, I imagine that the manual decapitalisation could be done by practically anyone – even non-French project managers. What do you think? In any case, I have more than 200 applicants to this project who I can approach as well, so if you give your files to Catherine and focus on the s&r list instead, if you get that done by tomorrow morning our time, I can get the army to work on the files after runs the macro. What you think?
“Karel
Sure, I can work on the list instead.
What about the issues I mentioned in the email then? If I use the shortut, the proper names will be back in lower case. Is there a way to avoid that without going manually through the whole glossary file again to remove the proper names?
Alexandre
———————-
Have you done any work on the two files yet? Can you upload any file you modified so that Catherine can continue on them? I’d like you to work on the s&r list because it can make a big difference.
Concerning the PNs, did you not create a list of words to capitalise only the first word of item names etc? Can we not just focus on this list? Replacing it back to small cap if it follows a space etc? I’d like to brainstorm about the list with you some. Perhaps we should Skype talk to speed up the brainstorming. You can also use the formula which tells you the character length of cells, use that to sort the list so that the smallest is at the top etc., and that might help you with shortening the list to work on.
Lets brainstorm on this for a while but please by direct email.

were there any files you had stopped fixing last night due to the deadline at the very end?
Hope to be sending you some files shortly.

Okay, can you take 6c then? You will find the new macro in JD Repair in an appropriately named subfolder. It should provide you with the actual glossary term and not just “False”, so this should greatly speed up your work.
