Welcome back, I was beginning to wonder what had happened to you guys 🙂
This is to confirm assignments as detailed in your message
thanks &
———————-
I need to see which files had you already completed. I see uploaded 7b, what about the other two you said you did? I stopped the other translator right as I saw that you said you completed some work, but I still have no idea what did you do.
Please let me know and upload the files.
Meantime, to keep you busy:
I had one translator proofread 3 files. When Jean
checked them, he found that terminology remained inconsistent with the glossary and that the linguistic side also demands a significant improvement. That translator is busy, therefore we need someone to complete her job and bring these files to deliverable state.

Please take care of the consistency of terminology as first priority. Additionally, please spellcheck the files.
I noticed translators occasionally make changes to the English column. Please beware form doing that – if the English is modified, client’s localization software can not find the segment and it falls back on our head.
Right now there are some additional debates about capitalization issue. Once it’s decided, I will send a message with update.
Please confirm receipt.
———————-
Thank you file received. I have no clue what’s the “bm” standing for. At this point, it is just important that we will use same terms everywhere.
I will have few more files for you to check within an hour or two.
———————-
File received! I believe you still have 1d to work on. I will assign more later today. It does help to rearrange the files in alphabetical order, but it’s up to you.
One more thing. I started vetting some of the files, and noticed that translators occasionally made changes to the English column. This is very problematic, as if there are any changes to the English, client will not be able to locate the segment and it will fall back to our heads. Therefore please be careful not to change the English, particularly when using the “search and replace” function. In such cases, select only the French column.
” OK! ”
I am marking on GS the completed files
1a-d / 2a-d / 3b / 5a-d / 7e,f,g / 11a,b,c,e,m / 18a,b,h,j / 17x,y, 2b, 3c, 4a / 15a,g,h / 17e,i,s.
I think 2a-d is a mistake, you were working only on 2b from section 2.
Please check if you have access to GS: https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=tl1axNbeor3f9JWptXigIhg&hl=en#gid=1
Let me know if you have access to it, as I need you to see what had already been done.

Susanne
Please let me know what is your language pair.
Had you submitted a sample for the Video Game project already?
———————-
Today we are finishing, therefore I would like you to go over ‘s comments and correct the issues she found in files that were not re-proofread. For this I need to know if you can view the GS (I sent a link with a different comment).
Additionally, I would propose a fast review of files translated by weaker translators – , , Marcus, Annete and may-be few more.
Please let me know when you get online and we will coordinate work.
” Received, thanks ”
I’ll be available from 2 o’clock

Hi
Thank you for the answer. I’ll try a new project/folder next time, if this doesn’t mean problems for you when retrieving my work.
While I wait for feedback from is there more work you could assign me for proofreading or translation?
———————-
yes, I can view the GS.
———————-
I don’t know, but maybe I lost a bit track of the files. So you can deduct 3 hours from my proofreading “account”for 2a, c, d.
———————-
my language pair is EN-DE, or, if necessary, ESL-DE. I was already part of the last project, and I think,I must have done a sample translation at that time.
Karel told me that I can say he sent me here to take part in the new project, too.

In one of the messages bellow I attached ‘s comments.
Please begin with files 3d and 14s – 3d was checked by you in the last night of the project, but she still found some issues. May-be requires some corrections.
Then please go over the less problematic files, where she saw only few issues. These were small things in files 8j, 9f, 12p, 13a, 15d, 16g, 18q, 19b – follow them and make corrections to what she found. If you think they require corrections beyond what noticed, please make them.
She commented also on other files, but we had already re-proofread them.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
———————-
Hi there
when will you send the files? Between 3-6pm CET I am not available today.
———————-
I attach a .rar file with 3 files from section 16. Vettor found few minor inconsistency issues. Please resolve them and upload them back here. The Word file is issue list to help you locate them.
———————-
I can confirm that I’ll upload those 3 files as well as 7a, 7c, 7d and 7g by tomorrow EOB at the latest.
Thanks

Susanne
I am attaching the instructions for this project.
Having read them, please submit a ticket in Z_Get category informing , PM who is managing file assignment, that you are available to take files.
———————-
Please first finish the 7a-g you’ve been working on, upload them, and then continue to the new ones.
First few files will need to be sent to Jean
or Alexandre to confirm application of guidelines, it also takes some time.
Can you upload these files this evening?
” OK! I’ll get the 09 June glossary up as soon as possible. You might as well double-check 203-205 for possible changes too, if any.
Done! ”
yes it happened to me once and I had to go back and change the English back to original, so now I am super careful.
I’ll let you know when I am half-way through 1d.

Okay, 09 June glossary is up.
———————-
09 June glossary is up.
You might be able to ask what has changed between today’s glossary and yesterday’s.
———————-
dictionary for 09 June is up at the usual place.
http://translationstop.com/files/Glossary/
Please use that to translate 05_reps_DEU
http://translationstop.com/files/BOI/German/05_reps_DEU.PXF
Section 5 are mostly sentences, although the reps file have lots of codes. It’s impossible to get an accurate word count of translated vs. untranslated and skippable parts, but Karel’s averaging formula puts it at 5377 words.
I’m sure you’ll get a lot of new stuff to add to the glossary from this file. It’s probably hard to separate the time spent on translating the file and the time adding to the glossary, but estimate it anyways.
Also, would it be possible to get a list of what’s changed between 09 June glossary compared to 08 June and 07 June? I may have to go back to the older files and make sure they’re consistent. If not, don’t worry, I can figure it out eventually.
———————-
Great, received. Now next step would be another scanning through files. I am selecting files of weaker translators: 8a, b,c,d,f,p,r,s.
No need in precise proofreading, only checking against glossary. Of course, if you see an obvious mistake, please correct it.
” OK! “, I have a more or less urgent comment regarding the bundling of Add_New_German with the VideoGerman Main glossary. At the update frequency we’re now having, translators may not get around to exporting/saving their Add_New glossaries before they receive an update to the main glossary, thus they could accidentally overwrite their entries to the Add-glossary. Do you think that is a valid concern?
———————-
yes it happened to me once and I had to go back and change the English back to original, so now I am super careful.
I’ll let you know when I am half-way through 1d.
———————-
Yes, lock can be a noun and a verb. But I think following the glossary is safest.
Please keep me updated on the 8th section files I gave you. I think you have an access to GS, so if you see that files from particular translator or after particular proofreader are good, tell me and I will give you some other files. Just don’t start to work on some files without informing me, as is also there working on other files. Don’t want to have any double-proofread files.
———————-
PS: Where did you upload them? Can you upload them here?
” ok. ”
so I am more than halway in file 1d, so you can let me know which files I’ll have to deal with next.
Catherine” I’ll start with 8a then. ”
Your next files are 2a, 2b and 2c. Please keep in touch with Jean
for any linguistic issues.
———————-
Files 8b and 8c are finished. I uploaded them with the correponding reports. 2hours each.
I also wanted to say that these three files 8abc contained a great number of grammar/conjugation mistakes and the quality of the French style was very average.
Carine

Carine
I would appreciate a more detailed quality report if possible.
Your next files are 8d and 8e, also unproofread files.
