One more question: what is numeral format in German like? 3 000, 3,000 or 3.000? Or doesn’t matter?
S

Are you back already? Please let me know.
———————-
All right, I will imply your solution.
This sentence also doesn’t seem to be clear in Eglish, and neither does its German translation:
“Go collect 5 Crimsoneyes and 5 Evileyes respectively from Crimsoneye Demons and Evileye Demons at Forsaken Abyss, and give them to Enchanter Nag.”
The “respectively” seems strange…
It seems to be an important sentence so we better get it right:
I understand it as: Get 5 Crimsoneyes and 5 Evileyes EACH…
(so ten items in all), right?
Cheers
Kristof

I will do the files tomorrow morning if it is Ok. If it is urgent, let me know and I’ll do them now.

I was out for some hours and I’m back.
Have you solved the problem of 18b or should I take it from seg.215 as you said?
Regards.
———————-
Well, I recommend scanning the whole lot of them first and see if there are any obvious difficulties. If a particular file looks troublesome, make a note, and set it aside and work on the next one. Tomorrow, send us what you have proofed so far and also tell us which file are troublesome. Then continue on.
Do the same thing Saturday.
If there are other free proofreaders tomorrow, we may assign the troublesome file(s) to them.
But, who knows, maybe they’re all correct already. 😉
———————-
I have doubled all the files.
Do you want me to uploaded finished files in further there together with sending the file to you as usual?
M” OK, will do them quickly. OK, it will be a very quick check then… ”
I am back and have finished two files already.
Will do the other three and send asap.

Honestly, it’s burning urgent. Please do whatever you can now.
Number format in German is 3.000 (if there is a fracture, you use a comma, opposite from English, so 2,5 is “two and half”)

Please find the first 2 files attached.

No, i don’t think so. “Respectively” means that 5 Crimsoneyes are form Crimsoneye Demons; and 5 Evileyes are from Evileye Demons. So it’s not “each”.
If you want to simplify translation you can say:
“Go collect 5 Crimsoneyes from Crimsoneye Demons and 5 Evileyes from Evileye Demons at Forsaken Abyss, and give them to Enchanter Nag.”
I think that’s much better.
But please note – the files had been proofread, and the only places I would like you to check are ones where vettors found “+” marks.
There is no need to proofread the files.

Please, post them also here – for me it is very fast to download them. The server is for backup.

The file 18r is now translated and uploaded.

I forgot to mention that Even if there are just Chinese characters, please take a look that there are same characters in both columns.
———————-
thanks for the specification, I will imply it accordingly.
So in this case the only issue I would have to look at is the + sign in line 294 of the file German_JD_100201_Localize_Vetted __8s
as stated on the Word document.
I am just a little confused why the other files were sent to me because they contain no “+” signs at all.
Also, a simple F7-check of the first file resulted in at least 5 real spelling mistakes… and there were a few minor grammar mistakes, not too bad but noticeable. They are now all eliminated.
Some of the German wording is quite awful, to be honest, but bearing in mind that the client’s English text is not much better, they can’t blame us for this.
If you don’t wish me to have a closer look at the files I can send them all back right away and get new ones, if required. Another spellcheck for the remaining ones seems in order, though.

spellcheck finished with these files.

Receipt confirmed, I’m working on them right now.

Do I need to compare these files?
———————-
Received!

Some proofreaders forget to delete the +. Or skip it. This is why we are sending these issues for additional translator, in this case – you.
When you finish the files, please compress them and attach to the message here.
———————-
Here are few more. Please confirm and tell me if you can do it now. We are in a rush 🙂
———————-
please find attached 2 of the 4 files (the other 2 to follow shortly, I don’t have the time to combine them now as Karel wants me to translate).
In the S-file, the issue marked with “+” is eliminated and so are all spelling mistakes I found in all files. My guess is that they came in there when terms from a dictionary were inserted into the previously proofread files, but believe me, they were there and some of them were bad ones.
I deleted the comment next to line 294 in the s-file but the cell remained black. Don’t know how to change this, sorry.
Any questions or anything not to your satisfaction, please let me know.
Best Kristof” and the next two ”
I am doing some emergency translation for Karel, which has to be done until 3 pm PST. I could only do these files after that.
Cheers,

I am back ready to take work within next 10 hours, i.e. 4/5 19:00-06:00 am GMT or later 5/5 20:00-24:00.
Thank zou and looking forward to your message.

One more question. It’s almost 400 “°°°” issues, do I need to mark them red and sign in the excel file? Or I can only write them in issues report?
———————-
– No need to comapre
– No need to mark you replaced °°° issues. Only some real changes. No need to write the °°° in the issue report either.
———————-
No problem, translation absolutely goes first.
———————-
Karels translations was a false alarm so I can actually do the files now!!! 🙂
———————-
this is good.
———————-
Super! They are yours.
But if he will request again – please translate, now it’s more important.
———————-
Hi again
no translating necessary for Karel so I would be free for more proofreading tonight, if need be.

Carine
just checked it on my end and looks all translated. Uploaded again, the file
18_FR_reps_Carine.to.proofread.PXF
to the folder:

Sure you are talking about the same file?

I’m trying to send the translated file 16b on that server you gave me :
http://001yourtranslationservice.com/newsystem/cgi-bin/up_1001_TR.cgi
But I don’t succeed, it seems that I need a password to proceed
Can you help me with this
Rachid
PS: I attach the file directly here also.

As far as I understand the following files, sentences are divided into different lines, and It’s right to leave hyphens and commas at the end of those lines?
———————-
In these files you may see this: /r
this /r means “line break”. So if you have a sentence like this:
I like to go/rto school every day/rbecause there/rI meet my firends.
Will eventually in the game look like this:
I like to go
to school every day
because there
I meet my friends
For this reason there is no space normally around the /r.
If you have a normal cell, click it, and you will see the exact alignment in the function row above. There should be kept same number of lines inside the cell how is in English. To make a line break in MSExcel, press Alt+Enter.
It is OK if there is a comma in the end of the line, but try to keep words with hyphen on same line. In any case, it is important how cell looks in the function line, and not how it looks in the spreadsheet.
In any case, please follow the English. What is there – is what should be in German.
