File Vetted Proof Uploaded

If you finished, then continue to the remaining files.
No need to mark the ~55~. Just really make sure you delete the ~ marks, because in several of your files the ~ remained. Now are two very responsible days that I am not sending files to lead vettor for revetting, so everything got to be perfect.

———————-

So it’s not N/AAAA but N/AA? I thought you’re just writing it shorter. This I’ve got to check.

” Yes, always better double check ”
the vetted files German 17q,r were uploaded.

If you want to assign me more..I am still breathing…

M” And just to remind you. What time do you need me on Monday…and maybe tomorrow? ”
I am available now. Ready for work.

13 p,q,s are vetted

———————-

Tomorrow from morning.
On Monday – from early morning.

Can you prepare for me a file 7a with untouched N/AA? I have a feeling that it shouldn’t have been replaced, because there were N/AA, and N/AB, and N/AC… Something may-be form client.

S

Please vet these German files:
JD_100201_Localize_2c
JD_100201_Localize_2d
JD_100201_Localize_3a
JD_100201_Localize_3b

Please do not write comments if you replace hyphen, I already recognize that you know how to do it. Also no need to list where you add a period, or replaced a ~55~ etc. ONLY comments that require attention of proofreader.
Please confirm.

———————-

ok, I ll do it. Without N/AA replaced.
Early morning it is like 6 am?

———————-

confirmed

S

———————-

You mean comments in comment file or in the vetted file? or in both?

S

———————-

Sylvia

yes, 4 hours is WAY over my budget. Also, did you learn the filter thing so that you do not proof the repetitions? We need to get efficient. There are hundreds of files, only a few days left, and seems like only three proofreaders.

———————-

Good to have you back.
In the attachment is folder with many files. I have run on all of them the 31char macro, and all of them have terms that are longer. Please abbreviate. In the attached table you can see how these things are marked in the files – in two files , I think, like comments and in all other I left the yellow background. It is possible that may-be some of these files don’t need to be abbreviated. Your decision, up to you.

I think in two files are plus marks, please check them.

Now the proofreader told me he spellchecked, but my inner sense tells me, that it is worth checking. So please spellcheck these things.

Please confirm.

———————-

please receive the repaired file 7a(N/AA)

M

———————-

can confirm. I’ll get started on them in a little bit.

———————-

Please find atatched the reports for files 13 j, r, s, u.

———————-

I just uploaded my last batch of files.
I am available all day Sunday if you have more files to proof. I will be available for a couple of hours on Monday.

” JM, more capacity tonight or you want to take a break?

“Hi Karel

Let’s get it done as soon as possible. I’ll do my best to help you meet the deadlines and avoid costly penalties.
Send me files and I’ll start working right away.

———————-

Sounds great
. I have a bunch of files already prepared and uploaded. If you check the googlesheets, in the proofreader’s column on the far left, when you see a single p with white background, it means that file has been prepared and uploaded for download. Can you check it out and tell me which files you want to take? I will then update the GS (googlesheet) by putting your name on the files you claim.
Sorry, getting late for me and I’m not sharp so much to farm out these things. :0(

———————-

I am referring to the abbreviations in the Transit dictionary. However, it seems that with the added gender signs behind some words they end up being longer than 31 char. Do the gender signs count into that and should I then abbreviate even more than in the dict.?

———————-

Hi Karel

I will proof files 12 e-i.
Do you plan on being around later on tonight?
I don’t know how much time it will take me to proof these files, and if I finish early enough, I might proof some more, but I don’t want to bite more than I can chew right now. I will probably be working until midnight my time (6am your time). Feel free to contact me at any time, I will never be far from the computer.

Karel

I just started working on 12e and I planned on filtering the repetitions, but I realized that 12 Reps does not follow the guidelines for capital letters. Item names, monster names and character titles were capitalized.
Shall I just check 12e-i with the filter as I planned on doing or shall I also modify the reps?
If you want me to modify the entire files, I cannot proof more than 15 000 words by the end on the weekend.
Please let me know as soon as possible.

JM

Karel

Please ignore my previous message, it was just an error on my part, I will be able to filter out the Reps.

” Hi JM, I’ll be around for a while if you want to resolve anything.

Here are the first two files. The process is going very very slow because a lot of the terms have to be abbreviated to almost illegibility (e.g. because they put (LVxxx) behind a very long word, thus adding 7 characters to a term!!!

Also in a few files (esp.3c I find a lot of terms not according to the dict, which also means I have to look the right term up all the time. Also there are very probably other terms in the texts not according to dictionary.)

I am halfway through 3c but have to go to bed now. Will continue tomorrow morning.

Time:
2a 60 mins
2b 50 mins – lots of terms not according to dict! 808/809 and some other book titles not translated (some have no German translation)

Please find attached the assessment for Marc, files 12e-i.

I mean both. If you don’t know how to address something or if you think some issue is for proofreader, you need to comment it both in the file and in the table. If it’s something you can correct – lost hyphen, period, space etc – no need to comment anywhere. 1 more thing – these files are full of abbreviations. It is NORMAL and no need to leave me a comment near each of them. Please COMMENT the plus marks if you find them (but no need to change the +color in the sheet).

Please deliver the files ASAP.

” How is the progress going Emle?
said that the filter trick really works well, so as not to proofread the repetitions.

I asked Karel about the abbreviations:

Now I can’t remember if the 31 includes the (LV etc), but keep in mind that ONLY the Proper Names should be abbreviated. That is where there is just a name in the English part, where each name has first capital letter.

Hope it helps.

———————-

I have vetted and uploaded 2d and 3a. However, there are no differences between 2c, 3b proofread and translated so I have not done them.

———————-

what remaining files do you mean?

———————-

Karel

I’m sorry about the time but the files I’m supposed to proofread contain many mistakes (spelling and meaning) and it takes quite a lot of time to correct them, even with the filter thing.

I am aware that time is the main focus right now but I don’t know if I’ll be able to go faster (once again, I’m a newbie in the proofreading departement and feel more comfortable with translation than proofreading).

Once again, I apologize about that. Please, tell me what’s the best thing to do.

Sylvia

I am going to be out for about 1-1 and a half hour.
If you will need me urgently you can text me:
+38093 330-77-30.

M” Sylvia, well, just try your best I guess. We’re short of French proofreaders and all we can do is try our best. The more ground you can cover the better. Perhaps shift away from perfection and just focus on the worst parts. It would be better to improve the worst parts of many files than to have a few files that are very good but others which are really bad.

Please wait with all these files from section 1-5 I sent you. We are checking again.

Please spellcheck/Issue resolve all other files, including the ones sent yesterday.

———————-

Please find attached several files we found problematic.

———————-

ok. I will start on the files sent for now and wait for further instructions regarding the abbreviations.

” I am at home already. ”
