” Sorry for making you troubles “again

I’m running into a new downloading problem, this time for the file to be translated, since translationstop.com doesn’t accept my password – are the logon details any different here? I tried both Mozilla & IE8, but I’m refused to enter.

Thanks for advising

I am the one to handle all technical and translation issues. You can address me either here (I am very convenient with this system, as I can attach many files) or on CS.

Your file is in folder 11->German-> second file from above.

Let me know when you find it.

———————-

Please find attached – short guide to installation of glossaries (skip transit installation instructions), recent update e-mails from Karel, and useful links page.

———————-

and the last one.

Please make sure you download and read instructions for German translators form CS.

And also please do not forget to send me a sample of your work (source segments against target segments) once you familiarize yourself a bit with the file. I would like to receive about 100-120 source words, preferably more sophisticated segments. You can post them as word file here.

Good luck and do not hesitate asking questions – I strongly believe that resolving all unclear points in the beginning assures a smooth continuation.

———————-

Your report received.

Only please when you submit the report as an invoice (= you want to get paid right now for the period you worked), please specify in file name “Invoice” and also in title of the document. Otherwise I see it just as a report for my information.

So do you want me to see this as an invoice and to forward it to Karel or you will submit an invoice in the end of this week?

———————-

thank you for the reply. I found the file now, it seems it was posted in the night. I will write again in the afternoon with a sample.

———————-

Very good

Don’t forget to install the glossaries and to import the terms before you start working.

———————-

your invoice received.

May I ask why did it take you so many hours to vet files 15o and 15t? I remember that 15o was a long file, but 15t was very short and all – repetitions.

———————-

I don’t care if you fill me a date when you just send me a temporary hourly report. It is just not important. When submitting invoice, it is important, because then I know precisely when I received the file, and it gives me the responsibility to pay it reasonably fast.

So I appreciate your questions, and feel free asking me whatever you are concerned about.

Thank you for updated file.

———————-

Did you receive my mail from Sunday? I still haven’t got access to the translationstrop.com. My username & password are Rudiger & Dieterle, but that doesn’t grant me access there.

Thanks for your help

———————-

I received both your messages right now.

Login: 001

Pas: 001

Please try it and let me know if you could find your file.

———————-

Thanks a lot, I got it now.

” I forgot say that I was asked to contact . “Gut!

Please do not forget to send me a sample. I would like to receive about 100-120 source fords, preferably a bit more sophisticated segments. Please send me as word file, aligned target with source.

And do not forget to install glossaries and import terms before you begin translating.

Here comes my Word sample 🙂

I am attaching the step-by step instructions for beginners. Please take a look. You don’t need the patch, the trial version of Magic ISO is sufficient to extract the Transit installation package.

Please try to follow instructions step by step, and then let me know if it worked (it should!)

———————-

Vetting took me much time, because I did it slowly and attentively.

———————-

Just to inform you, now I’m getting messages from all categories, so next time you can write me also in “Other support”. I wish I got this message on Friday, and not now.

———————-

I am glad you were trying to make it with lot of attention, but please try to fit into a more reasonable time, about one hour per file at the most. It is more question of concentration than of slow speed.

I will forward your invoice to Karel.

———————-

Thank you very much, I wish all translators prepared it so conveniently for me!

———————-

Do you have Transit installed already?

———————-

This is to confirm the receipt of your message.

Well, it is helpful.

———————-

I also think that questions should be resolved on as early stage as possible.

Thank you for the sample and for aligning it so conveniently.

Now to your questions:

1) Hyphens – sometimes they disapear to turn to tags when you save of Send the file. If everything works (some translators don’t have any problem with hyphens) – great. But make sure to try to save, close, and open to see hyphens are there. And if to replace, better use .hhh. (you can make a macro to insert with one click) and not ^^^, as it can be confused with tags.

2) Quotation marks – please see German guidelines, the answer may be there (download from CS) If not there, let me know and I will ask Lead Translator.

3)Capitalization – same as above, please check the guide, and if it’s not there- I will ask. but please check first.

Glossary:

1) Correct, add them to ADD NEW glossary. No need to inform me, just make sure you export this glossary along with your translated file.

2) As you wish. If translation is obvious, just translate according to your linguistic sense.

Please let me know if you find answer to questions 2 and 3.
