Giving to Charity
 

James 2:26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

There are many more lines in the bible <add> stating that we are called to much more than just believing in Jesus but that we must be good soldiers of God, setting a good example in our conduct according to the gospel and sacrificing ourselves for the betterment of others, especially the less fortunate and suffering. It is our obligation as believers, or concerned and responsible citizens of the planet, but it can also be a great joy to give.
But in giving to charity, so that our deeds are effective and not wasted on scams which take advantage of your good will (there are many), charity organisations which help the not so less fortunate or which have high management/advertising costs, we should be discerning where we send our hard worked for dollars so that, in essence, we can get the biggest bang for our charity bucks.
Below I have prepared some charities which I thought could be a worthwhile cause. If you have any other suggestions, feel free to send them to me so that I can research them.

iabolish.com - works to set free slaves (millions existing) around the world, pressuring congress and paying ransoms for their freedom, among other deeds

oxfam.com - seems to be one of the best and efficient at bringing immediate aid to devastated regions, such as southeast Asia during the Tsunami
