Replace them by \u00c2\u00b0\u00c2\u00b0\u00c2\u00b0 instead.<\/p>\n<p>* how do you attach a glossary to a project and transfer the terms into your translation?<br \/>\nI Receive\/Import glossary file into Transit and than choose Project &gt; Settings &gt; Termstar tab to attach it to a project. The matching terms in the dictionary window will be marked red. In the translation window I put the cursor to the term marked red in the dictionary window and press ALT + T to replace the word in the translation window with the term from the dictionary.<\/p>\n<p>* how do you mark a segment as Translated and what is the shortcut key to transfer the text from the fuzzy window? If I do not know what the term should be translated into, I leave it untranslated and put a + sign at the end of the term. Then in a separate note I write what I am not sure of and where to find it and then upload it together with the file.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; how do we deal with hyphens when translating?<\/p>\n<p>I do not use hyphens at all, but replace them by<br \/>\n\u00c2\u00b0\u00c2\u00b0\u00c2\u00b0 in the translated file and in the glossary. A macro should be created for \u00c2\u00b0\u00c2\u00b0\u00c2\u00b0 in order to not type it each time.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; how do you attach a glossary to a project and transfer the terms into your translation?<\/p>\n<p>First I receive the latest glossary pxf file\/project. Once I imported the updated dictionary, I can close the project and open my assigned project and then attach my new and updated glossary to that project.<\/p>\n<p>In order transfer terms from the glossary into my translation I open my first language pair and then go to Edit &gt; Insert All Terms from Dictionary. All terms within the text which are found in the glossary will be marked red. Once I insert terms they should be visible in the bottom, translation window.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; how do you mark a segment as Translated and what is the shortcut key to transfer the text from the fuzzy window? (ALT 2 jumps without transferring the contents.)<\/p>\n<p>I go to View -&gt; Segment Filter -&gt; \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Segment attribute filter\u00e2\u20ac\u009d tab. I tick \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Edited by\u00e2\u20ac\u009d checkbox and choose \u00e2\u20ac\u0153User\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Fuzzy match (user)\u00e2\u20ac\u009d from the selection list. Then I click the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Apply filter\u00e2\u20ac\u009d button. Now Transit will display the segments I translated only.<br \/>\nTo transfer the text from the fuzzy window I press ALT ENTER for the first segment. Once I translated the first segment I press ALT INS to mark it as Translated and to be taken to the next Untranslated segment.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; what is the rule for quotation marks?<br \/>\nQuotation marks should be avoided and only be used if I see them in the English source for the respective segments. In other places it complictates the software.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; how do you deal with Chinese characters when you get to them?<br \/>\nUntranslated Chinese segments should not be marked as translated. This allowed me to us &#8220;insert all terms from dictionary&#8221; function which saved much time in contrast to edit all manually. After that I checked them all and found an error in the glossary that I\u00c2\u00b4ve corrected in the text:<br \/>\nAchilles&#8217;s Shoulder = Achilles&#8217; Schulter (NOT Achilles&#8217; Schild)<br \/>\nAchilles&#8217;s Shield = Achilles&#8217; Schild (NOT Achilles&#8217; Schulter)<\/p>\n<p>I\u00c2\u00b4ve marked all segments as translated and now I checked them again. My Transit doesn\u00c2\u00b4t shows any untranslated segments.
