I have to get it, process it into a dictionary, and upload it for the translators. Which means I’m waiting for your file upload before I can go to bed tonight. I can stay up all night if I have to, but if it isn’t going to be done tonight I don’t want to wait for no reason.

———————-

it depends. I assume translators have been sending you their ADD_NEW glossaries all the time? If I should include these, it will take me longer, but the benefit should be obvious. If not, then I can send it in 2-3 hours max.

———————-

Actually, I haven’t got a single Add_New at all!
Don’t know why. They haven’t suggested a single new term to add.

I do get suggested changes in the form of .doc files, which I’ve either attached or linked to you as they come. I believe you’ve been downloading and incorporating/rejecting them already.

I’ll watch a movie or something. Post when it’s uploaded.

———————-

Karel told me that you had a list of terms from the client for BOI? Have you sent me those?” I do not have such a list for BOI and believe that Karel may have confused a JD list with a BOI one.

“Karel sent me a new file containing names and terms which is similar to the BOI_Proper_Names we got back in May 20th.

Having read through the file, there doesn’t seem to be anything to add. At this stage we already got them all via actual work on the files.

If you want to take a look yourself it’s in
http://translationstop.com/files/Glossary/BOI_names_6-10.rar

———————-

I would prefer that, but there is nothing to unzip (above, in this ticket, I can see it only as a pxf file)

Also, in my file 179, I actually don’t see what has to be corrected segementwise – ?

Uli” Going to bed. Just upload the glossary like before. I’ll take care of it later.

“Alright and good night!
Sorry, but new things all the time delay the work.

———————-

A .PXF is a zip file. Just tell winzip or unzip or whatever program of your choice to treat it as a zip file and it will be uncompressed and you can see the files inside it.

I don’t understand why you suddenly can’t see what’s wrong with 179 when you previously imply that you understand what’s wrong.

Your file is missing 14 segments. You need to turn in a file with all the segments there.

How many segments are on the English side? How many segments are on the German side? If you don’t know, turn the Full segment marker on from the View menu. Now, these two numbers have to match. Your 179 doesn’t. Segments are missing from the middle of file, causing the translation to mismatch.

———————-

, here are the two last comments files back and the glossary. I have sent you two versions. One containing just the latest list and a second with all the changes since June 8 (for later reference). I was also wondering if you had already farmed out 05_reps? Because if you’re splitting it up, I could work on some of it still tomorrow.
I have not included/looked at the file you sent me last (the term list of the client) because that would take lots of time again, I think. I will have a look at it later and decide if grazing it for terms is worth it.

———————-

I just uploaded file 15n and the corresponding report.
Here is the hour count:
JD_100201_Localize_15n 1,5

The previous proofreader failed to spot and correct many inconsistencies and did not apply the guidelines. Alexandre recommends “glossary_merged2” and you recommend “Glossary_May14”. Did you agree with him on which one to use as a reference? There are differences between the two. For example, “Frenzy” is “frénétique” in “merged2”, but “de frénésie” in “May14”.

I think the other proofers used “May14” as reference.

I want to be sure to start with the “approved” glossary since there are 67000+ cells to check and I don’t want to have to start over again.

I am also sending this to Alexandre.

Please let me know.

JM

———————-

Hi

Just starting with the next batch. Could you forward Rudiger’s comments to as well? There is a short list of comments on glossary terms, which I agree to. Additionally, yesterday Alexandre sent some updates file – I attach it bellow.

Did you do anything on the merged file yet? Should I split it between you and

K? Did you see that there are 2 files in separate sheet (they didn’t fit in)?

Please update me.

———————-

Hi

and another question: Is there a new glossary? The pretranslated parts and the June 9 glossary do not always match, but sometimes the pretranslated seems more up to date with what I have discussed with lately?

———————-

New glossary is up.
http://translationstop.com/files/Glossary/Glossary_DEU_15Jun.PXF

You may also want to download the zip file and look at the term building rule that inserted there.
