There should be 5 more files finishing this weekend and they will go to you to be proofread very soon after the translators turned those in.

For now if you go to
http://translationstop.com/files/Proofreading/New.files/German/

please proofread G2_17m_DEU_tobe_proofread.PXF.

That\\’s it for now. The other files are already taken by someone else.
___________________________________
At this point you are already registered on CS and contact directly there. In any case you have one file and 5 more will come during the weekend.

Please confirm receipt of this message and availability.

———————-

Hi

Please find attached the assessments for Dario_11 and Dario_7.

———————-

I forgot to say I worked an hour on these files.

———————-

M

files received.
I forgot to tell you – 90% of “glued words in German shoud be separated by hyphen, and not by space. Like this one ErdenglanzPerlen should be Erdenglanz-Perlen. Often in segments around you can see the correct unglued version and can do accordingly.

———————-

does not receive messages here. If you wish to contact him, please use CS.

———————-

May I ask you to take a look at this file? It had been proofread by one of the new proofreaders, and I have a feeling that too many item names had been left capitalized, Cite de Sunsteream instead of “Sunstream” and even some untranslated “OK”.

I would appreciate a second opinion.

———————-

Well, usually I check if there is an example to see how it is correct. I suspected that it is not that easy with glued word. Ok, I ll do separation with hyphen, after checking. But still will mark if I am not sure, it is 90% but not 100% 🙂

M

———————-

90%,100%, all same at this moment. If you won’t put there hyphen – I will.
I went over some files you sent me yesterday.
So – French number format is 2000 for short numbers; 1 500 000 for long.
In file 12a, which is disgrace to proofreader who did it, you still missed untranslated Sunstream City, which this intelligent person left how it is, sometimes with the intriguing combination “Cite de Sunstream City”.
Please try to be aware – I want to spend absolute minimum of time for your files.

As to differences in punctuation – read the sentence. Merci ! and Merci. mean same. Also see with the ellipsis – if it can logically fit to the sentence without changing the meaning – just leave it.
To tell you the true – I don’t have an intelligent person to check these things in French how I have for German. So make independent decisions, and leave for them the absolute minimum which must not be released how it is to the client.

You still have plenty of files right now? Tell me what did you already begin and what not – I want to redistribute them, so that you could begin revetting.

———————-

D

I cancel the last 3 files. Do not do files 13o-p.
And please let me know ASAP if you are going to do 10c and 10d.

———————-

Sorry, I didn’t write correctly. Do not do files all files 13o, 13p, 13q. My typo.

———————-

ok, I will spend my attention separately to Sunstream.
You got 17k, I just have finished 17l done. Do you want me to upload them one by one? Or together with the one file with comments.
Ok, I you agree I ll put hyphen in glued words.
About ellipsis, usually I do them by myself, but if I am not sure if I am not sure if translation went correct I out them.
Now, I think I ll take 5 minute more to solve couple issues by my self ,if we have such a thing with proofreaders.

M

———————-

The file french 17l is uploaded.
No issues for proofreader.

M

———————-

First let me tell you – very good work, way to go! You dealt excellently with the glued words, and other issues. Very good indeed.

Small remarks:

1. We use usual quotation marks for this project. Not the German style, not the double <<>> for French. Just these: “word” in both languages.

2. You took the right decision on 90% of the hyphens, but one that you spotted, but decided to leave as is, should have been deleted as well. How to know?
-The problematic hyphens are usually located in the very end or the very beginning of a sentence
– Often there is a hyphen in English target in same sentence.
If so, most likely this is a hyphen for deleting. But again, use your judgment how you do.

3. You confused German and French numbers.
English: 1,200
German: 1.200 No spaces!
French: 1200 or 1 200 (mostly for longer numbers).

4. The “strange dot” you found between some words (middle point) is used for some reasons in this game. If you see that it is not located between words how it’s in English – mark red and proofreader will organize it to be how it should.

Very good work.

Since you said you are available this weekend, I am assigning you few more files (other message).

You are training and working together, so don’t forget to record your hours and try to spend less then 1h per file.
