Writing from my mobile now so will be short but will write more later. It is a good question. In short I would say to fulfill God’s plan for you, because he knows all and your deepest character and what would make you happy. All else is meaningless and vain and empty satisfaction. Without God’s Spirit of life we are just empty and unsatisfied shells.<\/p>\n

I’m traveling at the moment and have rather sporadic internet, so my responses will probably be slower over the next month.<\/p>\n

Anyway, it would be good to get some feedback from you. God gives us purpose, because he knows our hearts and character more than we do. The bible says that “the best that a person can live is to eat, drink and be glad with the work of their hands. This is a gift from God.” Symbolically, “eat” means to read\/hear\/consume the word of God, “drink” means to drink from the Spirit, and the rest is as is. If you are glad with your work and the fruits that you produce, then you have a good purpose and are glad that you are fulfilling God’s will and doing something good. For this to happen you need to meditate, focus on God, listen to what he might be saying to you or where he is leading you to, and pray, and perservere, and be patient etc. If you are not happy with what you are doing now it could take a while for something else to materialise. Are you a believer?<\/p>\n

Otherwise, if you have some horrible job you cant get out of, it is more difficult but you can still find spiritual contentment and happiness in other ways. There are things you can do voluntarily outside of work and do good on a volunteer basis, from which you can find fulfilment. If you just live for yourself, have a job you are not happy with, do not seek or pray to be replenished by the living Spirit and spend your idle time trying to satisfy the cravings of your flesh (which Paul referred to as “a mere chasing after the wind”), I believe it is inevitable you will feel empty and without purpose.<\/p>\n

Hope this gives you some ideas, otherwise it is better if we communicated more, because I should be able to help you more if I know more about you and your situation.<\/p>\n

if you don’t believe in God perhaps you could try my simple instructions how to be saved<\/a><\/p>\n

The bible says that God loves us first. I often imagine him as someone occasionally blowing on a campfire as its glow fades away. He says somewhere in the bible that if he did not breath the breath of life into us we would decade into oblivion. I used to believe I was an atheist and, looking back, I must say I felt rather empty back then, but I had nothing to compare it against, so I thought it was just normal. Without the Spirit of Jesus living in you I think you will always feel empty, and without God in your life I cannot image finding purpose.<\/p>\n

I admit it’s strange asking to be saved, and I think from that page there is a link to my testimony when I asked the same thing \u2013 explaining how weird I felt asking. But I will never forget the results and I hold onto them to this day. Hence I cannot really offer you any other suggestions than how I see things. Hopefully you will overcome your fears and give a chance for Jesus and God to bring meaning to your life. I also heard of cases where Satan or bad spirits live in a person and do not want to let go of them, which could grip you with fear and prevent you from opening your heart to salvation. If you find yourself struggling with something like this, let me know and I will come up with a solution.<\/p>\n

my hunch is that this is more of a recent phenomenon due to the internet and the new technology. Now people can sit at home, order a pizza, surf the internet and get everything they want at the tip of their fingertips. Play games, watch 100 channels of crap on the TV, and they don’t even have to try to talk to anyone anymore. This is why they have gotten so selfish and it makes me sick. Just don’t take it personally and find real people. that’s what I do.<\/p>\n
